        Hiya Guys and Dolls,

Not that i am miss etiquette. In fact far from it. But i there are certain eating habits that drive me nuts!!

One thing i don't like is when someone double dips. You have a nice bowl of ranch dip ready to plunge your taters chips in for a scoop and here comes along someone who is double dipping left and right. I have to push the bowl aside and say um i'm not too hungry right now!

Or when someone talks with a mouth full of food and food particles land in my hair or clothes!

What is your pet peeve when you are dining with someone? And if they have poor manners do you tell them. I have never had the heart yet to do it.

I think it is wise not to tell them you peeve.  What make a friendship special is the person (friend) feels free to be themselves around you.  Of course you want to be comfortable as well.

Just like the issue with the stingy person, if the peeve makes you too uncomfortable, don't jepardize the friendship, just spend less time with them.

I have two pet peeves with food consumption.  One is "slapping" the food around the mouth and the mouth is open so you can also see it as well as hear it and the other is when someone has finished their meal and they don't lay their knife and fork side by side to show they are finished.  That last one really gets to me.

          I have one...

I can't tolerate someone or anyone especially my teenage daughter when she is pouting, eating like if she is counting pieces of food or just staring at the food or busier with her phone, that makes me very mad.
I was taught to be appreciative and that means you gotta enjoy and thankful for what was prepared for you.
Whenever she or my monkey don't concentrate on the food by either staring at the phone or playing around with food, I remove their plates.

Clicking and scraping the plate with silver ware drives me up the wall. When a fork or spoon scrapes the teeth, OMG like nails on a chalkboard.

A true mom you are!! It's practically the only time family can sit down together and i agree there should be no outside distractions.

Oh that's a good one. Or scraping the fork with their teeth when they pull it out of their mouth. That really irks me too.

Not so much eating but wasting food is one of my biggest peeves.  That one chaps my butt.  When I was growing up, it didn't matter if you liked it or not, you ate everybit of whatever mom cooked and DO NOT complain about it.  I see so much waste nowadays.  I work in a cafeteria and you should see the food we throw out.

I was grown up the same way wmmeden. I had to eat every morsel on my plate and if i didn't  i would have to sit there for hours while everyone was outside playing.

The thing i hated the most was lumpy mash potatoes and mom loved them lumpy. Thank God we had a dog.......that dog ate more mash potatoes than i did!

Blue, i have to be totally honest, you would want to shoot me where i sit. Cuz i never practiced the silverware etiquette. I never even knew that was the proper thing to do!! I always throw my silverware on top of my plate.....oh boy i got so much to learn. I better pop in Pretty Woman movie and watch the scene about the proper table manners again...

Awww Llips.  I guess it was the way we were brought up.

I think I'll check out that scene too - it would be interesting to see.
