  • Here's something you might find interesting:

23-year old Xiao Feng is an online computer games addict and he doesn't want to get a job. He just spends his time playing video games online. His father came up with an idea to discourage this activity: he hired players to hunt down and slay his son's characters.

So he hired top players in his son's favorite online games to hunt down Xiao Feng. Every one of the players he hired were stronger and higher leveled than Xiao Feng, thinking that his son would get bored with playing games if he was killed every time he logged on, and that he would start putting more effort into getting a job.

The result of this rather creative parenting enterprise is still unknown.

  • Interesting story.

I know that if that was my lad, it would have made him all the more determined to be a better player.  I'm going to guess that the dad's ploy has backfired here.

  • I would like to know if these measures had any effect. I'm sure that it must be frustrating to see your kid just playing video games every single day.

And he wouldn't be living at home!! laugh_out_loud
  • That seems like a lot of effort and a lack of parenting. The guy is 23 that's just ridiculous. How about just pulling the plug?

  • Here's another interesting case:

53-year-old Chinese real estate mogul Yu Youzhen owns 17 properties valued at roughly $1.5 million. That would be quite enough to just sit back and enjoy life. But she has other ideas. She has a job, wakes up at 3 a.m. six days a week to sweep almost two miles of roadway for around $228 a month. Why? For one reason: to set a good example for her children.

She has been cleaning streets since 1998 and she refuses to give up the contract job with the Wuchang District Chengguan Bureau Cleaning Team she acquired 15 years ago.

She has warned her son and daughter: “If you don't work, I'll donate the apartments to the country.” Results: her son now works as a driver in the Donghu Scenic Area and her daughter is an office worker.

  • I loved this one.  Dad blows his bratty kids' laptop to smitherenes, then posts the whole video on her own FB page, which he had changed her password to before blowing a few rounds into her computer.  Great stuff.

  • That video is priceless, Jodi! Loved it.
  • parents have it hard

  • O M freaking G jodi! That was awesome! Dad handled that little brat. laugh_out_loud

  • Here's another positive example:

The father who runs triathlons while carrying his daughter, who suffers from cerebral palsy

Rick van Beek has run his local triathlon for the past four years with his daughter in his arms. The kid has has cerebral palsy, she can neither walk nor talk, and her dad says he isn't even sure that she can see.

He knows that she loves the outdoors so he swims while pulling her in a kayak, bikes with her in a cart behind him, then runs while pushing her in a wheelchair so she can feel the breeze on her face.

  • A Californian teenager drugged her parents' milkshakes with a sleeping draught - after they banned her from going online after 10pm. The girl, from Rocklin, near Sacramento, secretly put a friend's prescription sleep medicine in her parents' milkshakes.

The parents found it a bit odd when their daughter offered to buy them milkshakes. They noticed their milkshakes tasted odd and only consumed about a quarter of them, but it was enough to put them to sleep.

The girl and her friend were both arrested on Monday and charged with conspiracy and willfully drugging her parents.

  • Aww that father carrying his daughter is precious. Now that's a great story!

I'm glad that girl was arrested. That's pretty sick to drug your parents. Yikes!

  • That's a vicious kid Markotik, couldn't have thought of something like that..

  • I'm always shocked when kids do something awful to their parents.  What a horrible child.

    blue

  • i dont usually promote spankings but some kids no matter what you do,only respond to one.I feel really lucky to have good teenagers (normal laziness, sometimes argumentative, simple wouldn't trade them for the world teenagers)

  • Here's another one:

The father who wears a skirt in solidarity with his 5-year-old son!

Nils Pickert, a German dad, says he wears women's clothing  to help his 5-year-old son feel good about going out in dresses and skirts.

Pickert says that in the small town where he lives, his son's dress choices are fueling gossip and that's why he is determined to stand up for his lad.

What do you think, is this dad right in supporting his son's peculiar choice of clothing?

  • Some boys go through that phase; well, for some it's just a phase. I don't know about the father's choice to wear skirts, but if he thinks it's a good decision, why not.

  • Here's another inspiring case:

Philippe Aumond and Camille Boivin each have an image of an insulin pump tattooed on their abdomens.

That is because their son Jacob, diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 3 ½, has an insulin pump that replacing the necessary four to five injections a day.

Jacob is now five and in kindergarten, and he wears that thing 24-7. Camille and Aumond decided to get tattoos of the pump, “because no parents want to have their child feel left out or alone.”

  • Aww that's sweet. Very nice parents smiley

  • Here's a funny one and a pretty good idea imo:

  • Don't know whether there's a story behind this picture but it's great nevertheless. smiley

  • Funny parenting by Adam Sandler:

  • LOL  That's the way to do it.
