        Hiya Guys and Dolls,

I use to never be afraid of storms or tornado warnings until one time there was a very close call and my area was almost struck by a tornado.

Now it seems i am very nervous when there is a bad storm. I like spring and summer storms when they are mild and just the distant sound of thunder and lightening. Especially at night when you can leave a window cracked open when you go to bed. I sleep like a baby.

But these huge violent storms seem to be getting worse. Does anyone have a fear of them or are you as cool as a cucumber during a bad storm?

I don't know how anyone could stay calm in those circumstances. Luckily, here in Serbia we don't have tornadoes and I love when it rains at night, perfect for sleeping. I also like bad weather when I'm inside on my sofa with a hot tea or coffee.

I like storms when I'm inside, preferably with a hot cup of coffee, like Markotik said. I've never seen a tornado either, that must be quite scary I guess.

I don't have a fear of thunder and lightning although I know I would be petrified (but excited) to see a tornado.

When I was a kid, my Mum used to be really scared of thunder and lightning and we used to have to sit in this huge cupboard in the hallway of our house until it passed.  I think it reminded her of times during the war.

Like Markotik and Johnny - I prefer to be cosy and warm indoors with a lovely cup of char when storms hit!

Did she just ask who Auntie Em is?  You need to watch that movie along with the Pink Floyd 'Dark Side of the Moon' soundtrack...  CRAZY STUFF!!!  Start the soundtrack on the 3rd lion's roar at the beginning...

Anyway, not really scared of storms.  Living in Missouri, we have all sorts of crazy weather, from Snowmageddon, tornados, floods, you name it lol we've got it.  I think the most important part is just to simply be informed of the weather in your area and take appropriate measures.  Missourians know that when weather gets bad to go to the basement, fill the bathtub up with water, put a mattress over you if necessary, and say a good prayer you don't lose internet connection (lol)

I've also lived in Miami and Desstin FL, we had hurricanes there.  Never understood why the hurricanes had such nice names like George, Brian, Jessica, etc.  No wonder why humans don't mind mandatory evacuations.  They need to name these things like 'Hurricane Get the H#ll Out of Town, or 'Hurricane I Will Destroy Everything You Have Ever Owned'.....  Maybe then people would actually get the point.

Pink Floyd is one of my all time favourite bands so I reckon I could cope with that.  Thanks Jodi.
