FEMA Camps in America?

I came across a video yesterday about "FEMA camps" in America. 

I have to say that some of the titles of these videos used the word "concentration" to describe the camps.  I was filled with horror when I saw what the implications of these camps are.  These videos seem to date from around 2005 onwards (well the ones I found did anyway).

Can someone from the USA tell me what these are supposed to be.  It sounds like something from the World War II.

What does FEMA mean and why would they have 500,000 plastic caskets on site?

FEMA stands for Federal Emergency Management Agency... mostly of note because of their lousy management of emergencies. The emergency at the time you are talking about is when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Louisiana, the levees broke that hold the ocean back because they are pretty much at sea level there. The caskets of course were for the bodies of those killed in the hurricane and the flooding after the levees broke. And/or any disaster that comes along.

The head of FEMA resigned, the aid did not get to the people in need. The response was really no response for some time. A disgrace for FEMA that won't soon be forgotten. When they did finally get some of the trailers to the homeless they were just horrible places. They are still rebuilding the southeastern portion of the state.

I still have a question though.  Why the barbed wire (facing inwards to stop people getting out), CCTV cameras, fencing etc?  Who would want to break out (or could break out for that matter bearing in mind what you said above)?

Blue, you'd have to post what video it was. I did see one which did have the fencing you say, but to me it looked like a storage lot and while the fencing looked like it was inward, it was facing out. Yes, saw the camera also, but alot of people are "Conspiracy" buffs who take things to an extreme.

I'd like to say alot about this being like this and so and so in USA, but i won't i do hate it all , the land-caste system of a pyramidal currency aristocracy. I've started too say too much already.

I agree with genenco about their being a lot of conspiracy theorists... I am not happy with the direction this country and the world seem to be heading, but what I have watched in these videos (and some others) is very slanted and presented in a way to make them very sinister.

How about this thought... FEMA, Federal Emergency Response Agency. Found shamefully unprepared to handle some very major catastrophes in this country. They are charged with being prepared to handle any major emergency or catastrophe. That means they have to have many things stockpiled... like caskets for example, which are needed in the case of a major catastrophe that leaves thousands or hundreds of thousands dead. World pandemic? Hurricanes? Earthquakes? Attacks on our country by terrorists or nuclear war? All sorts of things that would cause widespread devestation.

And FEMA must be prepared for any of these eventualities. At any time with maybe no notice, maybe short notice. Where are they going to put the stuff that is needed? Would that not use places like the train station that was abandoned in one of the videos. Now they are preparing it to house people, store things, and detain prisoners.

Our prisons are horribly overcrowded now and the worse things get the more crime rises. At this point they are letting people that belong in jail to protect the populace out on the street like a revolving door. Because there is nowhere to put them. Think of how many people start rioting and looting when disaster strikes. Add to that terrorists that we know are very real and willing to come on American soil and do things like happened on 9/11... where do they put these people... Guantanamo? Not in the numbers that could come in a war or major terrorist action.

I could go on, but I am sure you can see what I am saying. So, I will stop here. With one final statement. Keep it real.

Blue, I sure like you for not accepting their stories as Gospel and thinking and asking. I did a search on the facility they mentioned. Surprisingly, there's been some response to this video.  You'll find it under #3 for the facility and under #4 is the "Casket" one (BTW those are grave liners, you used to have cement lining the graves, but that's not cost effective anymore)

Now....Am I saying they and other who see this stuff and believe it are nuts or crazy? No, it's GOOD to question what the govt is doing, but only if your intent is to satisfy a curiousity, not to make outlandish claims.
