Good point on sensitivity

As someone pointed out in the forum, it's easy to fall into patterns amongst ourselves and friends, wherein we know our accepted level of discussed prejudices (yes, we all have them to some degree) bases on media and personal experiences. BUT, the forum isn't our private background and it wouldn't hurt to curb some thoughts and discussions before making blanket culturual statements..members come from across the globe. Just saying, publicly, here, where we're all one big LCB family, we should sometimes think before we speak and ask ourselves...are we referring to one bad apple, or the whole tree?

Hmmm - what prompted this then?  I'm curious.

it was concerning the thread wherein an RTG wasn't allowing Canadians, and some, inlcuding myself were commenting about restricted countries..and some comments weren't kindly taken, hmm, I'll look for the link

Ah yes - think that was the "desperate people from the US" comment.

I did remark on that saying it wasn't particularly kind as did others as I recall.

No, no, it was about if Canadians and US and others being restricted, what countries are being allowed? And it was mentioned a list of often casino restricted countries..there was also a terrorist comment. And a member was offended. So, my post, was just about how some country bashing would be seen offensive by members of those countries

13.....Perhaps I should go back for (more) sensitivity training, but I'm having a tough time seeing the big offense?

But, keep in mind my own bias here.  I think folks are way-too hyper sensitive in general.  Though, I have not perceived you that way....the opposive actually.  A bit of cynical banter might be good for the soul, huh?

Me? Oh, you can say what ya want to me, lol, it takes a heck of alot to offend me, lol..I'm not sensitive in that regard much..banter away...BUT, I have to step back sometimes, and recognize not everyone is the same as me, and keep myself in check at times

I think there may be some confusion here. To anyone who thinks that I said this comment....I did not.  I quoted what someone else wrote and how unkind it was.

Not a "save" - I just wanted to make it clear that it wasn't me who said that.  I can't find the original post but it was very rude about US gamblers and I thought that was the remark that you were referring to.

this is so funny....not funny Ha Ha but funny coincidental..On another chat forum there was yet another confusion of comments and meanings just minutes ago before I came here. The argument lasted seconds and the apologies took an hour! ! The moderator said a similar thing as Blue said. She said Can We Move on Please! !

nah..was just a post I saw earlier where someone got offended. Not saying either party was right or wrong, overly-sensitive or insensitive, just how comments are perceived

Blue i know which comment you are referring to, and we all know you would never ever do such a thing, that you only quoted someone else.

The quoted comment was rude and insulting but not only to U.S. players but also to anyone who is nuts.. like me... 

Lol.. though i get over those things quickly, and realize sometimes people don't always mean things as they type, and know the language barrier can cause alot of confusion and alot can be misunderstood.. but.. yes sometimes people can be very insensitive

Thus...nice save..like, 'nice catch'''she caught the perceived error..had ZERO to do with me..Ask blue who misunderstood her, it's posted in her inbox and the chat. yes, I did laugh..hence the post..I even said i myself was in it, and I too need to step back and look at my own posts, and I myself need to think before posts about things being perceived as insulting. I made the post BECAUSE in part I was no better than anyone else there and because someone felt insulted. I stood up to it..i stood up to my part and I wrote a post how we should all realize how our actions were/are perceived but thank you for the link, it was the one blue was looking for, how it wasn't about her.
Buy it or not, all I can do is say as it is. I would have thought my contributions would have outweighed  this one situation, wherein AGAIN, I am not, nor was I insulting blue..I'm fond of her and her duties here and her work.
Regardless, if this is how I am perceived, I am saddened. But live and learn. If it's my bad so be it.
I DO still regardless wish staff and members here well. I will miss them

I think where part of the confusion is your making a judgement call by this one post. Unfortunately there is more to it than this. I don't think it would be on a professional level to disclose all the reasons.

13 was warned and was never asked to leave. He was a valuable member in many respects to the forum and was admired by many. We all hope he will reconsider and come back. Only time will tell....

Handing out warnings are not something that is done without giving a lot of thought first. As i have stated before this is a large site with a lot of traffic day to day. Considering that, the warnings are far and inbetween.

It's done not only for LCB's protection but protection for it's members as well. Zuga works very hard to keep the site as smooth as possible. With that said, sometimes he can be the fall under scrutiny in cirrumstances that are just not fair.

I hope this brings a bit of more understanding........
