  • Here is hope, I HOPE THIS BILL PASSES, I THINK IT WILL WHAT ABOUT YOU!

  • Hey Deb,

Thanks for the link. Anyone who is for the bill to legalize gambling please register with that link.

I think it will pass.......again its about the almighty buck the US will profit from it. Being the deficit we are in.....congress will see no other way then to pass it!!

    Microgaming here i come baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Lips
  • Well, don't hold your breath. It'll take probably a year for implementing.

So, keep your eyes open and hope for the change.

  • Thanks for the link debra825!!!  WOOOO HOOOO!!!

Hey Lips, where did you register??  Cuz I couldn't find anywhere, I could be having a "blonde" moment though!! hehehe
  • Folks, keep in mind this is a LONG, LONG way from being enacted.  Also, why do we gamblers want this?  It just means the government will tax us and know more about our business.  Unless the DOJ does a vicious change in their policies of enforcement, there is nothing to worry about.  I would rather deal with a well run casino based in Britian or Panama than deal with the red tape of one U.S. government approved here.

  • Too funny!!!  It actually makes no difference to me, I pretty much play the same as I did before the UIGEA passed in Sept 2006.
I hate the fees involved to deposit / withdrawl.  I REALLY miss my Neteller and PrePaid ATM (not sure if they are even around anymore) accounts!!!!!

P.S.  I found where you register at!! hehe

That's what I have been saying right along doc.  But I guess everyone has their own agenda.  A lot of people cannot gamble because of their jurisdiction; or they are worried about not receiving their money if they win, etc.  I think they should just stay out of the crappy casinos, play the accredited ones, and leave US government out of it.. I won't be able to gamble at all if the bill passes, so I can't get excited about this at all.
  • Nal.....exactly.  If the government gets involved it will be red tape without end!  Plus, one is very hard pressed to find anyone the government has messed with for simply gambling.  Yes, they go after the casino owners from time to time, but do a Google search and finding actual gamblers who get in trouble with the law is very, very rare or nonexistent.

  • You both are soooooooooooooooooo right!!!  I WAS thinking that there are a few sites I would like to play at that don't accept USA players.
BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT I have a lot of options now and I still pretty much stick to my FAVORITES!!  hehe
  • Well for me I hope it passes.  We need some money here in the U.S.  The casinos that are out of the country are sometimes (well I wish I could get a boat and pay them a visit) but to each his/her own, I think it will help with healthcare and the bottom line is Bush was in violation of the UN Treaty, President Obama doesnt want that, I support President Obama's willingness to make this happen, cause he is the CAPTAIN! grin

  • Keep some things in mind.  Currently, no PLAYERS of online gaming are being bothered by the U.S. government.  People who set up illegal online casinos in the U.S.,  YES.  Players no.

So, why INVITE the government to have a hand in my onling casino playing?  Will they run/regulate online casinos with the same measure of "success" as the Post Office, the State of California, the IRS?  Do you really want to be on record that you are a "gambler?"  Who wants that on a government data base somewhere?

Insofar as this being a tax revenue source.  Ha!  With Obama racking up trillions in debt the tiny, tiny bit gleaned from online players wouldn't make any difference.

  • Do I want to be indentifyed as a "gambler" I have been called worst names.  I just want the bill to pass! It will, and regulation here we come, I see jobs, and other positive things, the negative will not surpass the positive.  The government is already in my business, this way they know a little more and if they want to contribute, the door is open! grin

  • Case in point:  If the Government cannot get a Flu Shot Program right, how can it successfully regulate online gaming?

  • Well gee wiz, flu shot, honestly I wouldnt take one if they brought to the door and paid me.  But I think and hope the bill will pass, the way I feel about these online casinos, I would rather have them right here so I wont have to go far when they cheat me and pay them a personal visit! grin

  • What I have grown so damn weary of, is the gamble we have to take within the gamble.
As eager as we are to go buy up those (pre-paid cards) (u.s.a.) so we can get our money to them quick as possible and make sure it goes through..etc.. I am so tired of feeling like the second gamble I am making is IF  I will get paid if I win...and how long and hard the process will be!!!
I hear it over and over again and it just is not right!

  • The government has screwed up:
    The Post Office
    Government contracts
    The Stimulus
    Cash for Clunkers
    The H1N1 shot distribution
This list goes on and on....

And now, the government wants to get a say so in gambling?  No thanks...stay away.  Hope the bill fails.

  • It couldnt get no worst then these SOB's ripping us off in the online casinos....but hey who am I.  I have a choice, I dont have to play.  As far the bill I have a say, I can vote against it or I can support it, if it helps with financing health reform, I am for it for sure, if it helps create jobs, I am for it, I wouldnt mind being one of those customer reps......you know the one you call and say you cant get the bonus! grin  Just my take on it, I got other fish to fry........ >:(

  • They'll rip us off whether or not this bill passes.  The point, to me, is our personal lives could end up being reported to some government office.  Do you want to go on a data base as a "gambler?"  It could cost you a job.  Also, this bill could open the way for the government to track and TAX our winnings.

  • What winnings. lol (old link removed)

  • LOL.....TRUE!  I guess you'd have to have a NET gain!  But, then again, say you win 500 and pay a 10% tax upfront.  In other words, the law requires a 10 percent withholding on winnings.  BUT, you then loose 3000...the governement sure isn't going to give you 10 percent rebate!

  • You got that right! wink Makes me rethink this? :-\

  • As long as the US government doesn't start messing with online gamblers, we far benefit by the it, the government, staying out.
