  • I just heard on the news that hackers have cracked into baby monitors! They can hack and access a baby monitor as far away as another country and hear every single word that is going on inside a home and even talk through it. One family kept hearing someone talking in their baby's room and learned it was coming from inside the monitor. That would be enough to scare the daylights out of you!

I remember a few years ago i had a friend of mine and her baby come to visit for a couple weeks and she brought the baby monitor. Every time she turned it on it would pick up a neighbors monitor a couple houses away! We could hear every single thing that was going on in there house!

I didn't trust them then and really don't trust them now that they can be hacked!

  • What will they hack into next I wonder.  Scary to think that some stranger can be saying inappropriate stuff to your child.

  • That's some crazy hack.  I thought maybe someone was making them into something else, but to listen to your home and family through the baby monitor?  And broadcasting into your private world is awful

  • Are you kidding me huh Weren't computers meant to make the world better? That is just sick be_sickamp;.

  • Quite incredible what people would do. Another example of invasion of privacy. Really sick.

  • Well, is there a way I can use a baby monitor to hack in a Slot machine? That would be something smiley

  • What are they doing that for? Just to listen to what goes on in someone's home? I don't get it, it's a waste of time. What's to gain?

  • There sure are some sick people out there.  I too wonder what is the point of it?  But thankfully I don't have a sick mind like the people doing this, so I can't figure it out.  Talk about being violated!

  • I was actually thinking of getting one at the time, but now, I'm happy I didn't :-)

  • Its one thing to have some stranger listening in the privacy of your home. But imagine how creepy it would be to hear a man's voice the baby's room in the middle of the night. You would think there is someone in that room about to kidnap your baby!

  •               Man,  that is all kind of creepy ya'll.  I remember when my kids were infants and we had a monitor  in their room, we could hear phone conversations  (cordless).  Cell Phones weren't big like they are today.  I don't think it was intentional,  but  I believe the frequencies were much lower and the monitor  picked up on it.  Really spooky at first.

  • The same thing happened when my kids were little, I thought I was going bonkers, everytime I would here a baby cry I would check on my sons and they were sleeping away. Needless to say when I found out it was someone else child and again we could hear everything, I quickly gathered it all up and took it back o the store where I bought it. They gave me a refund but I never heard from he maker about he unit.

Anytime you have a device that you can use to listen from a distance ,there is always a chance someone else can here it to.

  • I have seen this baby monitor exploit many times in movies, but always thought that it was a trick...

  • Probably I shouldn't say that but... It really made me laugh badly  cheesy That voice from inside the monitor..  I just can't imagine a situation like that  wink like "what, what, my monitor is saying it's hungry.."  cheesy

  • There is a bit of dark humor in it isn't there  tongue

  •           I'm  so glad that ship has sailed.  All the high tech devices we have now that weren't around 15 or 16 years ago.    Just don't want to deal with the aggravation....I'm paranoid enough already. laugh_out_loud

indeed  cheesy speaking monitor..  wink that reminds me "Robopocalypse" by Daniel H. Wilson ( a little off-topic but if someone enjoys reading books (it's so sad that there are less and less people who do sad) then it's a good one  wink). A novel about creation of Artificial Intelligence and apocalypse.. I'm not sci-fi fan but this one is pretty good imo  wink
