Hi Members,

I see alot of changes at LCB. A new stats board. Reputation points and yellow stars to rate our posts.

I am not opposed to change. But i have to be honest. Somewhere along the way i can't help but wonder if we will lose some of our charm. What makes us such a family is not judging who has the best posts....who has the best topics....who has the most Rep points.

We are family......and i like to think we embrace that family. I don't want to see a wave of competition and and animosity. Members feeling that they are no longer worthy unless they live up to a new level of standards. I hope it does not discourage members from posting fearing they wont make the grade.

We have always prided ourselves on topics that are fun, informative and interesting. That is the charm......i just hope now, posts are put up with sincerity and not a need to put a notch in their belts.

We are cozy.....charming....and down home. I just hope we don't lose that.

I couldn't agree more. I too see changes in LCB.

I feel a wave of unnecessary competition.
We are all here for the greater good of the site.
People posting just to race another member to add to thier numbers is not what we are all about.
We are a family here. All for one and one for all. For the betterment of LCB.
I would never judge a member who has less posts than myself, nor do I want to be judged simply because I have less posts than others.

This is not meant to be harsh, it is meant to be honest, and it is always best to be honest.

I agree with u all. Maybe it is just new still and we don't understand it?

I never thought of this place as a competition. Being a salesperson, the whole idea of competition can tear even the best friends apart.

Pam, I don't think this new stuff is about how much you post, (we already have that) it is about something else, what who knows.

I don't really have much more to say than ditto..you said it all, and like Shelli said, you said it exactly right, so I don't need to change a thing...

I have been a member of a couple other forums for a long time...Casinomeister being one of them, which seems like what is trying to be mirrored here. The thing is, I only go over there for maybe 10 minutes a week or so, to read my newsletter, etc. NOT to be part of the forum because of this specific reason. Its gives people a cold feeling, that I don't want to be a part of. I like what we have HERE.
I also think people will not be themselves when they have to worry about thank-yous, and Reputation Power. This is ridiculous to me. I have always considered LCB to be like a family to me, and this is doing a flipside.
I can't stand judgemental people, and I don't want to see the only place I have any peace turn into a place of judgement.

Nal....I ditto your ditto.

I would also like 2 say that although I am 1 of the members here @ LCB that HAS won a prize in the past based on my posting skills, that was never my reason 4 posting. I just see it as my way of trying 2 make my contribution 2 fellow members that have done the same 4 me & I will continue 2 do so.
