  • Hi Gang:

The other day I misplaced my car keys. I mean I looked everywhere, and could not locate them. Luckily a friend had another set for me, as I still have not located the original set.

Have you ever misplaced something and it simply is never to be found again? Keys? Jewelry? Paperwork? The list is endless.

    my mind...
  • lots of money, my sanity, my patience, my self control, oh, and yeah, my birth certificate!!

  • Lost a 10K gold ring with a Ruby in it which (I'm guessing (was about 5 carats...in size) I believe that it really was stolen, but no real proof...

But that was about 25 years ago....Was my Fathers though...

  • My gold ring with "Mum" on it.  My son bought it for me.  It was a cold day and it fell off my finger.  Do you think I could find it?  Nope.  I still have not found it and that was about a year ago.

    Sigh......

  • I couldn't find my keys as well for days I put them in the pantry by mistake when I was putting away my groceries but luckily for a craving of some cookies....lol I went nuts looking for them.

  • Where do i begin.......i seriously think i have a problem with this. Since i was a kid i lost everything you can imagine. As i grew up it has not got much better.

One of the classic things i do and i think its the reason why i lose things.....

I will for example put the paper plate in the sink and put the fork in the garbage. I have been through so much silverware you wouldn't even believe it. I am a pro at putting milk in the cabinet and crackers in the fridge.

My only excuse is i tend to have about 100 thoughts racing in my mind all the time. Hmmm that did seem like an excuse huh..........lmaooo!!

  • The most places i've found my lost items were in the fridge so check there.. and Lips.. good gosh.. i cannot beleive i finally see someone that does the same thing i do, i even worry myself that i do that thinking theres something wrong with me, but realize i have 1000 things racing through my mind and it just doesn't register quick enough what im doing.. I DO THE SAME THING!!! I have that BackwardReversed thingAmacallit!

  • The worst thing i found myself doing when my mind was in a frenzy was.. i with one hand put the lighter to my lips lit it, was holding the cigarette in its position away from my lips (reversed the positioning) i said ooops realizing it reversed it to the right position, but everyone saw me.. sad it was embarressing they were laughing... lol

  • Oh oh oh girl!!! I have put the lighter to my lips thinking it was the ciggy and tried to lite the ciggy as the lighter!

I have picked up jars on the table thinking it was my drink and started to drink from olive jars, yahtzee cups...etc.

Or this one drives me crazy.....i will look for something for a half hour...finally find it....lay it down relieved i have found it. Come back to it ten minutes later........and forget where i put it........and have to search all over again!!!!!!!!

This just can't be normal behavior.

  • I tell you something that is almost as bad. I have to know where EVERYTHING is in my house. If anything at all is unaccounted for, I will literally tear my house apart until I find it. I'm not talking about major things here, but all items, this includes twist ties, hair pretties, every single bit of change, my husbands lighters, my son's lego (I know exactly how many pieces he should have) batteries. My daugther (who is autistic) is a mouther and once swallowed a hair barette.  So off we go in the ambulance to the hospitial to surgically remove it. I have been a mess ever since. It is so bad for me that I put all the tiny objects that we are going to throw away into a ziplock so I can check it over and over to make sure it is there, and when I am satified, I take it outside to the garbage and check it again before I throw it away.  I cannot tell you how many times  I have dug through the trash to make sure the twist tie I threw away was in there.

  • LMAO OMG.. Lips.. i've done all of that.. you think there is something wrong with us? sad
I've even turned the TV "OFF" then sat down to watch it.. WTH...

  • ROFLMAOOOOOOOOOO!!! Imagin....just imagine us in the same house!!!!! Wow now that would a trip!

  • wmmeden.. when my daughter was little.. legos or marbles were not allowed in my house, i had a very great fear of what you just described, anything with small parts that she could get her hands on were not available to her, including doritos chips because i once saw a child choking on them just put a fear in me... i went through that not as bad, but about as bad.

  • OMG you guys!!!!!!!! this crap is soooooooooooooo funny!!!!!
I thought i was the only one  ;D grin grin
no words can even say...i have truly found a home here grin

  • You guys on here are hilarious. I love reading ya'll's nutty post. I can remember when I smoked a time or two lighting the wrong end of the ciggy. Good times. laugh_out_loud

    Did that too!
And I found it to be so much more entertaining than when it was still on, that I've pulled the powerplug ever since.

  • Yes, yes I have PMM... MY MIND and just like you with the keys I still have not been able to locate it grin grin grin grin grin grin

  • LMAO.. you're right slots we don't need any entertainment we can entertain ourselves with the craziness we do!

I blame it on ADHD!!!!! hehe  That's always a good excuse!!!!  cheesy
  • Err um well, I lost my glasses once and walked around looking for them for a couple of minutes before I realized I was wearing them......all together now, DUHHHHHH!
Back in the late 70's when I was wayyyy younger,( the stoner years) I was with some friends and we had been drinking a bit and smoking wacky tobacky and I did the lips poked out about ready to light them like a cigarette thing, when my friend who was as goofy, saw what I was about to do and said,"hey, don't do that".When I realized what I had almost done we just laughed for about 10 minutes. Ahhh youth.

    grin cheesy tongue

  • Lips and Imagin.  You have described my sister to a tee.  shocked

She is exactly the same and since a child has "lost" things all the time and does to this day.  She loses her car keys all the time and if she goes out, god help us.  She is a walking disaster bless her.  But like you guys she has a 1000 things racing through her brain.  She is truly a diamond.

  •     A long time ago, I lost something, but if I remember his name, does that still count?  I looked all over the place for about 30 mins for my big old purse until I realized it was on my shoulder.

I can only imagine your anguish as your daughter was rushed to the hospital. It instills fear in us and can makes us even more protective. The worry and fear you have has got to have taken a toll on you. Your obviously a very good mom. Sometimes just finding the humor in ourselves helps!!!

i didnt find this ring again. I was very sad about the loose.

  • I think we all suffer from ADHD shell lol and most who have ADHD have CBD which makes us fanatical at ripping the house apart looking for the things we can t find lol

I lost a beautiful emerald ring. When i tell how your gonna be sick. I was cleaning off the kitchen table after cooking. I had laid my ring on the table as to not get dough in it. I scooped the crumbs in one hand and put my ring in the other.

Not til the next day did i realize i had thrown the ring in the garbage and the crumbs on the sink!! I ran to the garbage to get it and the garbage man had already come. Ohhh i could tell ya stories.

Thank you for your kind words, Lips. My daughter is 9 and I had hoped she would have outgrown this by now. I have calmed down quite a bit.  I think it is just because she can't talk and I wouldn't know if she had swallowed something.  You gotta find the humor, though. You are absolutely right about that.
