  • Amazingly, that is what the Prime Minister of England did.

David Cameron and his wife went to a country pub on Sunday afternoon.  His daughter Nancy went to the loo and David and his wife both left (in separate cars).  It wasn't until they got home they realised that they had left their 8 year old daughter in the pub.

The irony of it all is that the government recently set up a programme to give parents of young children classes on how to raise them!  Maybe the PM should be attending along with his wife.

Have you or do you think you would ever "forget" to take your child with you?

  • My Mother & Aunt left one of my cousins somewhere, although I can't remember where.  There were 9 of us kids altogether, and she was the youngest & quietest one.  laugh_out_loud  It wasn't long before they realized it & went back to get her.

    It happens.

  • Yea i read about it on one of the Serbian news portals. Blue you think this is gonna be the biggest scandal this year in UK?

Somehow I dont see anyone topping this ... laugh_out_loud

I think it will be Zuga and I don't think they will ever let him forget this one.  Apparently, he thought his wife had the child with her and she thought he had the child with him.

I really think this Govt has egg on it's face now particularly with that programme recently launched on how to raise children.

I just can't stop shaking my head about it.  Unbelievable.

Sorry Lhasalover - meant to respond to your post too.

With 9 kids I can see how difficult it would be to remember them all but the PM only has 3 kids - not so difficult to remember them all.

I bet your cousin was upset?

  • Hey Blueday

Don't the PM and his family have bodyguards? I would think a person with his status would.

  • Well, that was embarrassing. I wonder what will happen next, keep us updated Blue. smiley I only wish it happened to any of Serbian politicians but I'm sure they would turn that around to their advantage.

  •           That's really embarassing, and by the way, no.

Yes he does although I don't know how many but I'm pretty sure they would have been around at the time.

I think this blunder will be in the news for a long time and no doubt it will be brought up by the opposing party (Labour) when they next sit in Parliament.  I'll let you know if anything further comes of this.

  • Never forgot my child or any child I was caring for... my dad used to count us with a hand on each head as he counted and there were only 5 of us kids, but we used to have a lot of other kids included and he counted them all too! laugh_out_loud Don't think the PM and his wife will live this one down!

  • Definately not an only a preoccuptied mindless idiot would. But I locked my keys in my car a couple of times before I bougth a LIncoln Navigator that had a door keypad.

    Good Lord.

  • No,it's something I never did but my Mom did leave me once.I guess it was my fault tho.I was a teenager and I was in the backseat with my boyfriend. When we dropped him off,I went to get in the front and she took off!! I guess I had that one coming!! laugh_out_loud

This reminds me of the child that was left behind by her parents at her own birthday party!!

Time to do a head check maybe??!!

  • i was left at home when i was 12.My mom said everyone come on and i had to make a bathroom run laugh_out_loud.I came out to see everyone had left me and was off enjoying the movies while i sat bored at home tongue

  • That's the one thing I find so strange compared to the US. A child is allowed where alcohol is served, but in the USA there's a law against it. Or am I wrong about this?

  • The question is: can you lead a (pretty big) country if you forget your kid at the pub? I honestly don't think so.

I'm quite curious to see how this will affect his standings in the polls, I trust Blue to keep us updated wink

You are not wrong Genenco.  Certain public houses have "child friendly" rooms so that families can go out to the pub for a meal and the parents don't have to leave their kids at home.

It's a strange law indeed.  Amazing when you compare the fact that nobody in England can view a cigarette kiosk because the new law says that all smoking paraphernalia must be covered.  Recently installed sliding doors cover all the ciggys on sale.....but a child can go in a public house where adults drink alcohol, people swear, people smoke outside, people get drunk and so on.

    Crazy crazy Britain.

Sorry Johnny - your post was not there when I replied to Genenco.

You know what - I think the Govt will think of a shock story to hit the news to take the public interest away from the PM forgetting his child in a pub.  I shall of course post anything new I hear.
