Have you ever thought of yourself as a gambling addict?

I have a story to tell.Bare with me,it's long but may help someone out here on LCB.Most people just call me baby,it's my nickname and I am 34 years old.I use to be a mother (tragic story) and now I am a gambling addict of 10 years.I have lost over 250,000 usd due to my problems,and it seems I can NEVER stop no matter how hard I try.I even resorted to the old "chargeback" trick and got banned from most  casinos I use to play at,I had all debit cards (banks) taken away from the banks,bank accounts shut off ect.

This has been a life threatening addiction to me and I have lost everything for it as well.I could have easily paid off my car,home,and bought new vehicles,saved money for retirement (I am disabled) and I just lost 2 businesses due to? Gambling.My main source? BITCOINS.I think they are the devil and my little secret weapon against my own quest for a cure of depression.If you feel your an addict: DO NOT GAMBLE ANYMORE unless you have someone watching your spending and you can start to control yourself,the MINUTE you feel like your getting out of control? STOP. CALL PROFESSIONAL HELP AND STOP... PERIOD.

My story is much deeper than this but as not to flood the board I just wanted everyone who has problems with gambling a Chance to come out and discuss it sometimes seeing that your not alone can be such a blessing. 

Believe me,your not alone and if you feel like you wake up thinking about getting online and gambling? YOUR NOT ALONE: I AM WITH YOU! I know the feeling! I have been BANNED too: If your banned from many/most chains/sister casinos of the "big boys" from credit card deposits? YOUR NOT ALONE.

In my opinion this post has much merit to it and surprised I have seen more about addiction on the site,we are all here as gamblers indeed however we must help those in need of help if they go to far I JUST stop being a "compulsive" gambler,if you need any help at all tips/tricks or an ear I am an PM away! I check my email everyday! I am sorry your going thru your pain,we all have our addictions to cover what is really wrong,and gambling my friend is your escape.

Sorry for your loss mamagotit... I agree that gambling is or might be very addictive. If you aren't sure when to stop or how to stop you should look for a professional opinion.

We all get carried away from time to time with those flashing images, chips, and coins moving in front of us, expecting a miracle to happen: just this one time, here it is, a jackpot, big money, etc... But if something like this is repeating on a daily basis you should think twice and talk with professionals about it. Don't let the gambling habit affects your life. Be responsible, play wisely and spend your money wisely ;)

@ Zuga Thank you,I will def let you know if that occurs :) so far? I HAVE SPENT LESS! I have GAMBLED LESS! What do you know? lol. I am actually using my experiences to help others and ENJOY gambling instead of it being an ADDICTION. Even today I won 25 free spins thru the shop won .016 btc and DIDN'T PULL after all that playing (4 hours!?) and I won only .002 :( to begin with ugh! But I know that with time and deep thought,prayer along with help? I will get better :) ty all that have give your opinions! Keep the thread going for others who may need help! Please do so for it may be the best thing they could see all day/night ;0)

@Zuga sorry did have another comment here from your post.I do agree you MUST know you have a problem before you can do anything about it! I knew before even stopping heavy gambling but as most addicts? You just don;t stop you "can't" as your brain is programed to believe "a little more won't hurt" that is NOT true.

I love to gamble so am I addicted? Probably, but I have a gambling budget that I stick to and on occasion I may go over a bit.

Im sorry to hear about your struggles. Like you I started to have an escape and at the same time got addicted to smoking. In five years I lost $22,500 and i felt so guilty every time but i couldnt stop. It caused lots of issues in my relationship. When I got pregnant with my second child I knew I had to stop and basically did it cold turkey as well as quitting smoking. I have not put one dollar of my own money since that day. I felt like a fraud because Im a social worker. But this can affect anyone, rich, poor, family, no family, good life bad life. I think some people start as a way to have entertainment or because they need to fill a void. Its exciting the antipation of a big win. I still play now with free spins or free sign up money but thats it. Its not worth it to loose everything good in your life to see those slots spin or card games whatever your choice is. i understand that you can feel like your not strong or weak because you got addicted and cant stop. People are vulnerable by nature and those who pray on those vulnerabilities are the ones at fault. But if its not this its something else to get addictted to like drugs and alcohol or anything really. If you want to stop my advice based on my experiences is to just be disciplined and say not one more cent into gambling. The thing is that you need to want to stop, you need to find something else to occupy your time. I colour or paint or draw or do crosstich. If you need to talk to someone then do it, have them keep you motivated and disciplined. If you still cant stop then last resort get someone to manage your money only giving you money for essesntials like food petrol and everything else like bills gets paid by them. good luck to those who are struggling.
