Hi LCB Family,
We all are well aware of the eye in the sky at casinos. I love the classic line in the movie Casino "....the dealers are watching the players...the box men are watching the dealers...the floor men are watching the box men..the shift bosses are watching the pit bosses...the casino manager is watching the shift bosses....I'm watching the casino manager.....and the eye in the sky is watching us all".
When visiting a land casino do you ever think about the "eye in the sky" watching you?
I have thought about it at least once every time i go. Even though i have really nothing to fear it kinda spooks me.
I wonder if they get a kick out of just watching certain players and crack jokes. What if someone bends over to pick up a chip and their skirt is too short....oops did they see that?
One thing they can not do is record sound....thank God!!! I have had some pretty interesting comments when I'm there! Once when i was there we looked up at the camera and waved......hiya suckers!
I'm thinking there has to be moments they have a blast watching up there.....lets face it they are only human. So next time you decide you get a wedgie..remember...your being watched!

Yes Lips..
In the casinos everything is seen..
If you think for one sec you aren't being seen or noticed
for anything you do at their machines or walking around,
through, outside where ever you are.. think again lol
I think the only places are the restrooms and hotels rooms
are "eyes" free.. but who really knows lol
They never really bothered me though, too busy gambling
to worry about them.
Although they will start paying more attention to thoses
that do watch the cameras, or have continued glances into them -

If I recall correctly, those involved in the security of the casino are even told "Don't associate with the other workers"
I'm guessing that it's due to the security not getting tied to a dealer or someone who might try and pull stuff which would place them in jeopardy but with security being cooperative, then they get away with the act.
I once saw a guy make a $10 bet on the BJ table. Lose and grab the chips and walk away. Security was on him fast. He was busted for theft and he got a few months for that..Stupid for just $10. -

Tables, players and dealers at the tables are the number one closely watched.
Techs and Floor persons are watched, they caught one
floor person sticking her hand into a $5 dollar poker
machine and filling her pocket with a bunch of chips..
How stupid of her to think they aren't watching UNLESS
she figured she could "pay em off" with the chips she stole lol -

Years and years ago I was in Vegas with my sister. We were both broke waiting to go to the airport to catch our flight home. We had a few hours to kill and I had $20 left to spend. (Maybe it was $10, can't remember for sure.) I started playing BJ at a $1 table. (Yes they had it in those days.) Betting $1 and playing by the book. I get to talking to the dealer and tell him we are waiting to go home, am broke, the usual story, blah, blah, blah. All of a sudden he starts passing me by for hits and when I insist on one (say hit a 13 or 14 against a 10) he questions me on whether I really want a hit. I started thinking this guy knows that I should stay so I started following his lead. I started winning lol. Meanwhile my sister is completely broke so she is standing behind me watching. She gets all nervous and starts telling me I am going to get in trouble, etc. etc. I am thinking, Hey I didn't do anything. I am just playing. When I got up to leave I had a few extra bucks to buy us both lunch at the airport.
It is still hard for me to believe that this happened. However, that was a long time ago and I am sure today you wouldn't see that happening. There is much more technology now.

Hiya Med,
That is a really cool story.....i had a similar experience playing roulette once. I wrote a post on it sometime ago. Situations like that are what dreams are made of. Not to mention something i am sure you will never forget!
And for whatever crazy reason....doesnt THAT win seem to be one of the most exciting wins you ever had? I rank that right up there with winning some serious jack pot.
The thrill of winning when your not suppose to!!!!!!

I was in Atlantic City last year when I strange man started asking me lots of questions. How much money did I have? Where was I from? Was I alone? Etc. I saw a security guy walk by and called him over. I explained this man was making me feel very uncomfortable....however, the stranger had run off as soon as I motioned for security. The security guy, commenting on his fleeing the area, said not to worry "we are tracking him on our cameras and we'll get him before he gets to the door." Also, he said they would keep an eye on me so I would be safe while playing. So...the EYE IN THE SKY is a reality in my book!

I know casino's have very tight security, but when you think about it, theres only a handful of employees and THOUSANDS of people in a casino......unless your doing something to make yourself standout, then chances are they aren't even looking at you......as someone else mentioned above, they will pay the most attention to tables, so if your sitting there playing slots I doubt they will give you anything more than a passing glance at the screen.....I had a friend that worked security at a department store, and he was told to glance at all the screens once in a while, and to pay extra attention to a certain area [i'm guessing the area where most stuff gets lifted?]I'm sure the same goes with casino's..........

Well, I have to say that the security in a department store is hardly a comparison to the security the casino uses.
A while back when I used to live at the casinos I had myself ejected from Mohegan Sun Casino. This means if I go back, they will arrest me.
I have the option after a year to review with Mr. Casino Big Wig, I forget his title..and see if I can reinstate my status.
The process itself was quite elaborate, they took me out back, to get booked and fingerprinted I was quite impressed with the security system that I was exposed to.
Anyway, as far as the security goes...I always have to test things out I guess..so I went back, guess I didn't get my fill. About an hour in, the security guard came and escorted me out, and said if I came back I would be arrested. I guess I must have thought he was lucky, the first time and knew where I played, so I DID go back, and sat somewhere else..who would think they would see me with all the gazillion people coming in and out of there. But they did. And the arrested me. Then then had to call the State Police in. I waited there for hours while I was getting arrested, then I had to figure out how to have someone drive down 3 hours to come bail me out of somewhere I wasn't supposed to be..wasn't pretty.
So next time you don't think that eye in the sky is for real...
before you go and pick your butt...
and pull one of those grab and hold's Viv..
Just take it from one who's been there.

Not only the casinos security system alot tighter
then a department stores, they also have undercovers
looking like normal gamblers, they sit at machines or the
bars, or just in the lobbys.. you would never know it.
Saw an undercover bust a credit/bucket searcher
(people come in looking for credits, or coins left in machines)
I would of never known he was undercover, he broke out a
security badge told dude, lets go..
Here security is very high tech, and in the security room employees are
watching 24/7 thats all they do, its not just one guy -

I didn't do ANYTHING wrong, Satan..I guess you didn't read it right. I said I had myself EJECTED. If you don't know what that means...it is a voluntary ejection for people like me who have GAMBLING PROBLEMS.
I had myself ejected, because I could not keep myself out. When I said I was living there..it was kinda true in a sick way. -

Your a to be commended on your courage to do that. I have to share a story with you. Worse case i ever saw....a anthesiologist from Ohio...got himself banned from the casino in his home town. So he did the next best thing....drove 6 hours to Horseshoe Casino in Indiana. Stayed 3 days at a crack...never slept. Lost his gf......and lost over 500k.
His drug of choice......Baccarat....his gf flipped out so bad there was a brawl in the casino. He banned himself from there too.
It's a tough one to crack.....there is a thrill in gambling. You are not alone Nal...your just honest enough to admit it.

Sorry for commending you. As far as ME getting REAL...when and IF that should be a problem for me..im sure i can handle it....and when i do....please don't commend me either.
I ejected myself from 3 places, as I told you before..
I don't need to be commended..that's just how it is.
But you know Lips, you have to get real. If you can't be honest, especially with
yourself, you cannot ever expect to get better.
