I am just so stunned....

Well as everyone knows, I am employed and do enjoy my job. There was a recent round of people hired, I didn't get hired due to causing about $8,000 in rejects inside of 2 months and I'm just glad I was still employed! 

One guy who did get hired was thrilled and I was also as he has a 6 year old boy and he was paying out alot for insurance for him and the kid and his rent and such. 

So Wensday, he took his UA  Pee test for drugs) and then last night, the HR lady and 2 people none of us knew came to him and took him away.   

The idiot FAILED the drug test, in fact the word was it was VERY dirty and he has since been fired (Found out the 2 strangers were from the temp service) and now he's without a job and the temp service won't use him again! 

I cannot understand why people still do this knowing full well it's almost impossible to cheat a UA and now he's without income and what would have been a great future (Starting pay would have been $13.50 per hour) all gone because he thought he could cheat the test. 

No brain, no pain genenco... My husband worked with a guy who was applying for a job with another company and of course the guy had to go for a UA... When he returns from the test, the guys are standing around the break table and my husband asks him, "So, did you pass your test?" This guy looked at him and quite seriously replied, "I DON'T KNOW YET." 

Drugs testing is mandatory here, they do UR and Hair to check for long term, they a re done randomly and within 6 months to one year thereafter.. no drugs and no high is worth losing your job, or risk a great job.. sometimes people dont understand the long term affects, not olnly body but also your lifes call.. you want to work and make it decently in this world, give up the drugs.. you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Wow, I thought that only athletes think they can beat the drug tests and avoid getting banned... This is quite sad to be honest, mostly because that 6 year old kid of his...

The one that suffers is his child. How sad. Hopefully this has affected him in some way and he will work to get himself clean.

What an idiot.  Surely he would know that you can't cheat a system.  That said, they don't do it here in the UK (but I guess they will at some point soon).

As you guys have already said, it's the kid that will lose out here.  Very sad.

I try to avoid drug tests at all cost.  Its the written part I screw up all the time.

Prolly happens a lot more then we can even imagine gene. But just reading about you working still puts a smile on my face.

I remember once being scared to death to take the drug test for a job. Not cuz i was using, but i had a muffin full of poppy seeds the day before and someone said to me "omg poppy seeds test positive for weed"!

When i got to the clinic i told the nurse i had a poppy seed muffin and i hope test doesn't come up positive for drugs. She looked at me like i have heard them all but that's a good one kid! For sure she thought i was making up excuses.

The poppy seed thing is about testing positive for opiates like heroin.  I have heard it is possible to get a positive UA for that, but it takes a lot.  Like a giant daily poppy seed muffin.

The poppy plant actually produces the opium used to make heroin. 

I, on the other hand, would test positive for weed and it wasn't from any muffins.

Long time no see! Yes i have been told i would have to eat an enormous amount of muffins to show positive. And like you i am sure there are many peeps who would show up positive for weed.

They are trying to pass a law now in our state to not jail people for possession of marijuana if it is under a certain quantity and just ticket them and let them go. Will be interesting to see if it passes.

I do avoid that drug test. Got no reason to try it.
