Hi all,
i just wanted to write a thread explaining my situation,
firstly, the reason i named this thread (I should stop gambling) is because I SHOULD, i dont work and i struggle as it is and the little money i do have left i gamble with, then even sometimes i gamble with the money i should pay bills with, it is getting out of hand to be honest, i try soo hard not to gamble sometimes, and i even close accounts on certain websites to stop myself, but what do i do, i always go and unlock the accounts and deposit again, i cant save money either, when i have spare money i just dont like seeing it in my bank account.
I also cant get gambling out of my head, im 28 years old and i have basically gambled all my life, starting from going to blackpool every weekend with family and going into the arcades and then my dad played cards with us for money of course, it has always been part of my life and it is soo hard not to do, i try and fight it soo much but it is sooo hard.....
also i have met someone now online and this person is coming to live with me next year, so i really really need to sort this problem out, not just for me but for my new partner too.
It is getting too much for me to cope with, what is worse too is this person also likes to gamble, but this person can control it, (i wish i could lol)
the reason im saying this person is because i dont want to talk to personal if you know what i mean .
you know what else, i even tryed ringing gamble aware, and i left them a message and never got called back, and i tryed a few times and even asked why they didnt ring back, they just said they must have lost the message, and low and behold it happened 3 times they never called me back, so i couldnt even get help from a group either, soo yes here i am on a gambling forum about deposit and no deposit codes for casinos, and now im pretty much asking for adivce or anything, even though the advice will probly be basic info i already know, but i just dont know what to do.
i didnt mean for this thread to be this long either o well, at least it gives you all a chance to get to know me a bit better.... so yes, if anyone can give any advice of what i can doo, i would really appreciate it, i need to sort it out and try get a grip of it before my new partner moves in with me so we can have a better life....
thanks for reading and gl all

If you really want to stop gambling perhaps you should use the - voluntary self exclusion - so that they won't let you reopen the accounts and do it again when you fall prey to your own weakness...
i have done that on numerous occasions, but then i find somewhere else to gamble or find another casino to deposit in, i just cant fight very well, but ty for the reply -

Well, when you are having a moment of clarity like now, go exclude yourself from every casino you can find, just to give yourself a chance... find a new one and block yourself while you are still struggling to not gamble there... if you slip, get back on and continue your blocking campaign...
I am not sure where you live, but Gambler's Anonymous is pretty much worldwide these days... you don't have to do it alone... If there is not a group near you, join an online GA group... of course all of this depends on you really wanting to quit.
Does your new partner know what is going on? They should, cause if they move in with you then it is going to be their problem too. -

thank you, and yes my partner does know what i am like regarding the slots, the thing there katt is this lol, i have signed up to probly 90% of them on the internet, so blocking them all will be very very hard work, i cant even remember half of them, about 60% of them was just for the no deposit and i never deposit in them anyway, i only deposit in the trusted ones, but if i blocked all the trusted ones then all the others would then get a shot at me depositing and i would never in those cos some are rogue and so on, so yes i do get what you are saying, and i have done the self exclusion a few times, and it is just soo hard, i will have to try and close all then if i can remember them all, and somehow just try my hardest, even though it is hard, thanks for help again -

You really need to stop gambling... cold turkey.
You are 28yrs old and life has alot more to offer than thinking about gambling 24/7.
Back in 2005, I was really in deep with online gambling. I would deposit thousands a day. I finally went to GA and stopped Oct 10,2006.
I now only gamble a very small bit. If I felt myself getting back to my old habits, I would be back to a meeting in a second. I would love to go to a land casino but I stay away.
I should say.. I was crying like a baby the first time I was going to go to a meeting. Non gamblers (or those that don't have a problem) are strictly not allowed (at this one at least), they let my husband go with me, I was that upset and ticked off.
After a couple days, it got easier. Trust me.
Step away from the computer. PM me anytime if you need some support....
Realizing gambling is too big a part of your life is the first step and I am very proud of you for taking it.
Hang in there. -

I don't know the circumstances around your unemployment but getting yourself a little job you can be proud of yourself for might be helpful. You can exclude yourself as suggested but you will find a way if you've if got the itch and nothing else to do. You've got something to look forward to with a new life and a new partner. Make the best of it LuckyRJ.

Hi Lucky,
Your honesty alone to come to a public forum and speak so openly is def a step in the right direction.
You can use a program on your computer that will block all casinos. Unfortunately by doing that we will here at LCB lose you in the process because of the keyword "casino" in the name.
As well as having the blocks that won't allow access you need to learn your own self control. You can't tell yourself you will play once to twice here and there, no more then drug or alcohol dependent person could. Playing only free chips won't work either as it will only give you more of craving to play.
There are plenty of support groups online you may want to try.
Good luck to you RJ.

I screwed that one line up which I am known to do. I combined 2 different 1 liners. Go figure. See what happens when u get old and your sinuses make your head feel like 100 lbs. Here are the 3 one liners u should always remember:
I called suicide prevention and they hung up on me.
I called dial a prayer and got put on hold
I was going to call 911 but couldnt remember the phone number.
How embarrassing to mix 2 one liners up. I wouldnt have realzied it if it wasnt for Gabby and Lips. -

Hi LuckyRJ. I understand where you are coming from here. You are indeed very brave to ask for help openly as you have and I truly admire you for that.
I know you are in the UK and can I suggest http://gamcare.co.uk/. They have live help, telephone help, counselling support, a forum with other gamblers trying to break the habit and its a UK site. I hope this site is some help to you as I think it has everything that you need.
On the gamcare site, they have a forum (as mentioned above) and you could make that your first port of call every day to give you the strength you need to not gamble each and every day. If you take each day one at a time, you could actually achieve your goal.
I wish you success with giving up gambling (or at least controlling it) and happiness with your new partner. Keep us posted as to how it's going and if you decide to block yourself from LCB, please don't go without saying "au revoir".

From one gambler to another, we're all addicts on different levels.
You having the courage and strength to tell your story is amazing and a great start to self therapy.
When I am in my gambling mode I feel, unhappy, no vibrancy, uncreative, unthoughtful, irritated, temperamental, purposeless and weighted .
I waste way too many hours chasing a win(high), I feel depressed!
When I don't gamble/chase I feel vibrant, happy, rich(inside), light and healthy
I am MORE available to family and friends.
I am MORE creative, thoughtful, useful, have better time management
Anything in your life that becomes unhealthy, you have to get it out NOW.
Address it like it is a cancerous tumor that is going to spread and kill you if you don't remove it!!!!
LIVE or DIE(inside)????
Good luck to you... -

Hey Lucky RJ, I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time in your life right now. I think you'd be surprised how easy help is to find if you just ask. It's very courageous of you to come out and say what you did. I hope that in itself is therapeutic. It's definitely a good start. Good Luck to you.

LuckyRJ, I hope you don't really think they were trying to get rid of you. I was thinking the same thing... coming here to the forum if you are trying not to gamble seems like it would make your battle harder... here you see specials, and wins, and excitement... and like the other day, new games you have not tried... it's like sitting in the bar when you are trying not to take a drink... we all wish the best for you and hope you can shake the addiction you describe... good luck and think positive! -

I live in Las Vegas, i have said this many many times, i understand what you mean about the anxiety, stress and panic attacks.. those alone will have you gambling just to get your mind off of it all, i don't think i will ever be successful no matter what i do or how hard i try, im gonna just keep doing it, knowing this for some odd reason helps me, i do it less and less.. taking it a step at a time, i'd panic if i went cold turkey i'd want it more, the first chance i'd get i'd go crazy.. doing it my way has helped greatly, only i myself know what i need to do.
A new partner and a new job will give you incentive and reason to not gamble, they are new resposiblities and they do consume the time lol.
I wish you all the luck, seems to me you are getting there and got yourself together..
p.s. an old saying.. friends are not the ones who give you the drugs to make you feel better, friends are those that hand you the tools that will help to make your life better.. zuga and blue's responses reflect your afflictions and troubles they don't want to rid you they want to help you, members on this site are VERY important and well cared for, depending on the individual, gambling can be a very serious addiction.. beleive me i know.. -

hmmm was a bit shocked that blueday and zuga wanted to get rid of me
I'm gobsmacked and pretty annoyed that you think that is what I have said LuckyRJ (or indeed Zuga has said).
How you can take "if you decide to block yourself from LCB, please don't go without saying "au revoir" as saying I want to get rid of you, I have no idea. As of Zuga, he merely told you that he can block you if that is what you want.
Where in either of those sentences does it say Zuga or myself want you to go.

Feel the need to throw in my 2 cents here (oh wait, i already gambled my change too $@#$@$!).
What up yo?
Have not contributed much of anything on here lately. Guess trying to read and write on a forum with 5 poker tables popping up and taking the typing cursor away was handicapping my game.
Translation = I too, may have some "MINOR" issues with gambling.
There are lots of things you can do to improve the situation. It really just depends on how much you desire to change.
1st. Get rid of your computer.
if this is not possible you can....
-have some one else install the parental control features to block all gambling sites.
-reduce the speed of your internet connection. ever try to play online slots with a 56K modem?? not for long you wont.
2. Find some one you can trust with your money. A family member or a close friend. Some one that trusts you enough to give u a copy of their car or house key. So you know they cant run off with your money. LoL.
This sounds a bit crazy but at this point, you know you can not trust yourself with the money either. Just having to justify to another person why you need $100 3 days in a row. yet have done nothing and have nothing to show 4 it. Can act as a slight deterrent.
Another route is to get a regular Savings Account at a bank. No ATM card, no checks. so you cant just spend the money easily. The fact the bank is only open certain hours makes it much more difficult to just gamble away what you have. Also the trip to the bank sometimes gives you a chance to break out of the gambling mode and realize you should not spend the money.
I could go on (obviously) but i need to log off so im just posting what i've written for now.
GL and I wish you the strength and will power to live your life freely -

thanks orren,
i dont want to get rid of my computer i need it, secondly i dont want to put blocks on my computer or downgrade connection, i play online games too, so i need the speed lol...
and also i really want to just control my gambling, i dont want to go cold turkey, i just want to do it for fun, when i can and just have fun with it.
i will need to work soo hard to do this though, but this is really what i want, this way i can still be a part of the forum and not do a cold turkey
thanks everyone

We take problem gambling very seriously. You publicly spoke about your intention to quit gambling and how you find it hard to do so. It was only fair from our side to suggest to close your forum account if that is something that would help you to quit.
We are not trying to get rid of you, but if, and i mean IF, you have a gambling problem then we would certainly be willing to exclude you from LCB forum on your request.
hope this clarify things

As a (Admitted) "Gambling Addict" I can understand how you feel.
My suggestion?
Go out to a local soup kitchen or such and ask if you might help for a couple of hours a few days a week. Believe it or not, this WILL give you a self-esteem boost that will help you with your struggle.
I'm not suggesting this so you see what others are suffering from or why, it's that I know from being such in the past that I felt so worthless to anyone or thing.
This will help and you do get a good feeling helping others in need also.
Plus, it looks good on an application, "Keep Busy" are 2 very important words that today ring so true, don't expect things to come to you, go out and find them.
Best wishes and believe me, it can get better... -

Hi all,
i just wanted to write a thread explaining my situation,
firstly, the reason i named this thread (I should stop gambling) is because I SHOULD, i dont work and i struggle as it is and the little money i do have left i gamble with, then even sometimes i gamble with the money i should pay bills with, it is getting out of hand to be honest, i try soo hard not to gamble sometimes, and i even close accounts on certain websites to stop myself, but what do i do, i always go and unlock the accounts and deposit again, i cant save money either, when i have spare money i just dont like seeing it in my bank account.

I probably shouldn't add anything since I already posted a reply but feel the need.....
You don't have a job. You spend the little money you may have on gambling instead of bills. You met someone online and now are having them live with you. (I REALLY hope you have already met face to face and established a real relationship and not just an online one). You don't want to disconnect your computer. You dont' want a slower connection because you are also addicted to online games.
You are 28yrs old. You need way more of a life.
I hear alot of excuses. For those who let gambling take over their life and use funds that sould be used for rent/gas/food, you have a problem and 'cutting back' never works, or rarely works.
I really wish you the best and if you are serious about quitting, we will all be behind you.
What I would love to hear next is... I GOT A JOB! -

Time to get this thread back to the top. On Friday anyone that wants to know why I keep shipping this thread to the top can send me an LCB email and I will reply. It didnt take myself and my new partner in crime on this site to figure it out. I use the word "partner " in a difference meaning then its used elsewhere on this thread. I refuse to start the tad happy b.s. again.

My "partner in crime" goes by a code name not a real name. The code name is "DEEP THROAT". This person is an expert in investigating around the world the truth versus b.s.. Maybe if u google "DEEP THROAT" u might find some information. U better NOT report back here about doing a search and posting something about porn.

GL and I wish you the strength and will power to live your life freely
I absolutely love his suggestions, especially for someone who doesn't or can't go cold turkey, still be able to prove self control and at the same time having some help/support.. very good advice! -

LUCKYRJ.......have you made any progress with your gambling problem? i see you are posting some good screenies.....seems sort of odd after all the concern everyone showed in this thread.
well................... good question, i am controlling it, so to speak lol
and they was tiny wins hehe i only do min bet spins when i gamble cos its all i can afford and i like to make my deposits last as long as posible,
but, i have gone mad on jackpot party the last week, deposited more than i should have, but i will be ok, what i said still stands, i really would like to stop gambling, but we always contradict ourselfs anyway, and days and weeks go by and u just need a fix, it is hard, but i am controlling it, i accept i have a problem, like a lot of others do too, and i have to deal with it in our own unique ways, my way is trying really really hard to control myself.
thanks for replying again though
(but may i add this, this thread and the nice support i got is good for others to read too so it has more than 1 purpose imo)

Hi Lucky,
I can see the love for Jackpot Party that casino is unreal! I am in UK now and have watched froggy play and i said to her if we had it in the states i'd be hooked.
I know it's tough to have self control when it comes to gambling especially. We think just 20 more and 20 more or another spin and before we know it we have went over the top. Maybe what you can do is have only so much cash avail in your account to make a deposit. This way you can't over spend your limits.
