        I was having a private discussion with the manager the other night about the fact that they were changing my schedule up so much.  I in no way mind  filling in for people but told him I was upset because I really need more notice so my husband can get it ok'd with his work to miss. Also, it seems like it was just me that they were moving around so much.  Most of you know my daughter is disabled and  my husband and I care for her ourselves so our schedules have to be compatible.  The other manager's nephew was eavesdropping and went running his mouth that I was angry and she sends me a very shitty email.  Needless to say family should not work together.  Now I could write a statement and get him in trouble but I'm no tattletale and prefer to handle this myself.  Some people suck!!!

        That's not right wmmeden, it doesn't cost them anything to give you reasonable notice before changing the schedule, it's just a decent thing to do. As for the nephew... no comment.

        Whatever happened to "work life balance".  It's very unreasonable to chop and change your schedule as they are, even without having a disabled child.  As for the email from the nephew, I'm not sure what you should do about that.  Certainly don't stand for it if it happens again!

        That's a really bad situation wmmeden. I think it's good you talked with your manager and about the nephew... not much to say, at least nothing appropriate for a public forum. I hope it will sort out.

        Yep. All of this. The same thing is happening at my job. Since moving to the day shift, my hours have been cut, and I'm being tied to a schedule that is plain stupid. They have me going to lunch like 2 hours after I get there. Who does that?

                              That kind of stuff used to happen to me a lot at the hospital I used to work at.    I  never really
        paid much attention to  it until a co worker asked how come I was working so many weekend days.  Then I started to look at the schedule and noticed a lot of people weren't  divying it up equally.  Man,  I was highly pissed!    I felt I had been taken advantage of for years and not even knew it.  You have to say something immediately if you notice it,  otherwise--in most situations I've seen,  employers or people who make the schedule will assume it's okay and keep doing it.    And by the way,  Wmmeden,  I know you posted it a long time ago,  but I totally agree about family shouldn't work together.  It seems
        favoritisim is almost inevitable.

        That is a really nasty situation, I don't understand this and noone should be treated that way. Everyone needs to be respected so changing schedules on a short notice definitely doesn't seem like a respectful thing to do. The best of luck to you!
