Katie Holmes buys daughter $24,000 playhouse

Holmes‘ $24K gift to Suri is reportedly a Grand Victorian Luxury Playhouse with a media room, an eat-in-kitchen, an intercom system, a sunroom, and a toy garage storage.

The playhouse will have running water, electricity and heat.

A kid toy version of a Mercedez will also be given by Holmes to Suri.




I remember one of my son's going crazy when he got a pair of Hulk hands from grandpa and grandma.  They were a big pair of green hulk hands that made a 'pow' sound when you hit something.  I think they were $12.99 and he was beyond estatic.

I wonder if times changed in the Cruise household if Suri would be happy getting a Barbie Doll next year.

Granted, they make a lot more than most but....$24,000 for ONE gift for a little kid. Seems very excessive to me.

That's well over the top and a totally ridiculous present imho.  I guess if you got it, flaunt it.

That's ridiculous but I guess it's tough to find ways to spend money when you have so much of it. Or maybe not.

Scrooge here...Yes I mean me!! That is just crazy.I know they can afford it but I think that money would be better served to help feed some of starving children.Maybe Katie and Suri could volunteer at a shelter so she could see how lucky she is.

even if i had the money i would spend wisely and not on frivolous over expensive things.My kids got one toy and school uniforms this year  smh

Yep, that's crazy. I think it's a bit much but then again we buy within our means right and they've got it.

If this is true then she is an idiot.  I bought my boys a play gym that had a tree house when they were young and it cost approx.  $800.00 and they enjoyed it until they were about 8 years old.  You don't have to spend 24K for a good playhouse.  I am sure her daughter would have been happy with any less costly playhouse. And, I am sick of these "liberal" ass....les.  They waste their money.  Then they support Liberal Democrats that think us upper middle class workers need to pay more taxes! Well my husband and I paid our way through College and earn over $250K combined, got no help with paying our kids college tuition, or most tax credits lower income earners received. We don't earn enough to invest and live off "Capital Gains" as the true "Rich" do.  I refuse to pay to go to the movies that "liberal outspoken actors" are in. 

I've never expected that celebrities spend money wisely. I mean, what we are going to talk about if we don't read about a ridiculous $24K present and other gossips. Honestly, I don't care.... she could have bought a new toaster for $10K.

True, but when then speak out against Conservatives, Centrists and Moderates and are for raising taxes on professional couples with families that earn $250-500.00 and pay "ordinary income tax rates" while they pay less in ordinary income taxes and shift their income to "capital gains" paying only 20%; I refuse to listen to what they have to say, watch any production they are in and will criticize their spending on friv. items that those they think should be paying higher taxes could never afford.  There are very few movies I will pay to see. I will not back miss-guided Hollywood liberal actors that believe we taxpayers should care about what they think.  They have nothing in common with the average taxpayer regardless of what tax-bracket we are in.
