last straw with girlfriend

Tell me folks if you would call it quits or not. Day before Christmas eve me and gf decide to open presents cuz she had to work Christmas eve and day. Bought her a 55" LED tv that i had to ask her neighbor to help me lug in her house. After dinner and a bottle of wine to herself we open presents. She unwraps the tv takes a step back and don't say nothing. Aight she either loves it or hates it im thinking.

She looks at me and says why u have to go and spend that much money for. Firstly i didn't, got a helluva deal on it day after thx giving on one of those door buster sales. I says to her do you like it cuz she needed a new one bad. She can be a hot head and wouldn't let up on how much she thought i spent on it. What sparked this temper tantrum i dunno but she is screaming at me and i decide its time to ship outta there. What happens next is what got me as im walking to door i hear this crash turn around and she somehow managed to kick the tv over and damaged the screen.

I don't care how or why this got her angry and don't want to figure it out either. It was all plain wrong for no good reason. Worst part is she never called to apologize waiting for me to call her i guess. That started my xmas in a bad way but its all good cuz spent the rest of my time in good company. I say its high time i kick her to the curb after this stunt what ya think.

Liquorman,it sounds like she has anger issues.I think it's time to walk away and let her get her life together...without you in it!! Sorry!!

Sounds like she's got major issues. Who breaks a new 55 inch TV? Move on definitely don't go back to that. You must have been in shock when you saw what she did. Grown man or not anyone would be hurt if their loved one smashed a gift.

How ungrateful can you get!  OMG, most women would give their right arm to have a man buy her such a special gift.  Sounds like time to get rid and find someone who appreciates all you do for them.

That's absolutely crazy, I would have killed her! If she is worried about money she should have set a budget. Regardless it's time to let that one go, that kind of anger will eventually lead to her hitting you and you don't need it. At least you made the best of the holiday.

What pisses me off is its not about the money she was fishing to find an argument. When she drinks she can get out of hand. If money did have any true part in her madness it was me telling her i want to build a nice nest egg before settling in with her. She just killed it by wrecking that tv. Only so much i man can take.

Hope you're moving on liquorman. There are plenty of fish in the sea that would love a man to do something nice for them. How long were you together?

It's time to move on liquorman, she obviously has some issues to say the least, smashing a gift like that is totally unacceptable if you ask me. So I guess you're better off without her.

Auch... That sounds to me like she made the choice easy for you (well, at a price of a new 55" TV). It's best you just walk away. I would however ended that with breaking a few things she bought, expensive one if possible... What a bitch...

What a horrible thing to do especially after giving her such a nice gift. I sounds like you are best to move on and start the new year fresh without her. Sorry your Christmas got off to such a bad start  but seems it led the way to start 2014 without her.

What gets me even more is she hasn't called you to apologize for her snotty actions!

That's just awful and ungrateful, just leave her. I know it's easy to say that, but I think it would be the right thing for you to do.

Dude you're best to walk away. They say we are thrown in situations that a higher power thinks we can handle and I would never be in that situation because I would have brought the house down. Sucks that you bought such a sweet TV for a sourpuss. Move on man.

Did you buy the insurance plan when u got the tv?

if she apologies then I would give her another chance. If not then dump her

Great reminder about the insurance jodi! It won't cover intentional damage but how are they to know it didn't happen during handling right? Shame for the kind of money and a nice tv like that to go to waste. Not like your cheating the store either because they will get full credit from manufacturer.

I would talk to her long enough to get it back. Then you can enjoy a Christmas gift you gave right back to yourself.

Well, I never thought about insurance, but if you have to think about that when you are buying a present, y then you have a problem to start with.
Like buying a engagement ring, and asking about the return policy...
