Hi Guys and Dolls,
With 2014 underway and losing weight is a big part of resolutions, thought it would be nice to have a weekly count on our progress. We can discuss how are diets are going, how much we have lost or gained and help each other keep on track.
No one has to divulge their weight, we can keep that private but would be nice to share how much we are losing or not each week. There is always a few pounds everybody wants to lose.
I look forward to hearing everyone's progress, success, struggle and support we give to each other!
Starting January 2nd the LCB Biggest loser is on! It is the first time that LCB'ers who lose are actually winning!
Good luck,
Lips

Nice Lips, it helps to get me motivated! I have gained a good 15 pounds since I changed jobs, I went from running around to sitting a squad. I usually go with the low fat diet, it works best. I kinda can't wait to start it, I feel so much better when I eat healthier. I look forward to sharing and hearing others stories.
P.S. I just watched a clip on a plus model responding to people bad mouthing her size. It just blows my mind how we all think stick thin is a must. I too have fallen victim to thinking I had to look like that but as I'm getting older as long as I'm heathy that's all that really matters!
Good luck all -

Great idea lips.
I have put on a few.
I went to the doctor to have my thyroid checked. Went back 3 days later and was up 4lbs in the 3 days.
I was beyond frustrated. Told the Dr. I had being going to the gym 4 times a week and in the past 3 days had eaten ONE string cheese and ONE yogurt each day. She told me to go the gym everyday, or better yet, twice a day and eat less. WTH?
I think the weight gain is hormonal even though my mom, sister, daughter and aunt have never been over 105lbs. Grrrrr!
Count me in. Just saw the thread so I will start tomorrow. -

4lbs in 3 days is a bit worrying Gabby. Perhaps you're not eating enough? Do you drink fizzy drinks? They are a killer on the calorie front. I read a story about a woman who was dieting and she put on 122lbs over 3 months! She was eating healthily but she was drinking 5 cans of a diet drink every day. She went to the docs and he asked her about her diet and she mentioned the cans of "low calorie" drink. Turned out there was 17 spoonfuls of sugar in the can of drink and she was having 5 a day so that was 85 spoons of sugar every day, 595 spoons of sugar a week! No wonder she put on the weight.
Good luck with the diet and good luck to everyone.

I drink an obscene amount of Diet Pepsi everyday. I have heard that it's not the best for a diet but I just can't cut it out. I have decided to limit it to one can a day. I love it too much to give it up completely.

Hiya LCB biggest losers!
Well today is the first day and it started off with a terrible temptation. A friend of mine send me a text and said there is something waiting for you on your front porch this morn. Omg it was a box full of donuts from my favorite donut shop. We talking chocolate covered donuts, buttermilk glazed donuts and long johns. I about died...........
But you will all be proud of me i hope because i didn't touch a single one of them and told my friend come pick them up and bring them to work to share at the office!
Sweets is my weakness and biggest battle to stay away from them. I know they have those low fat cookies like snack wells devil food but seriously i can eat the whole box, so its best i stay away from them for awhile to get really adjusted.
I started my morn with a cup of coffee and have not eaten yet because there is not a thing in the house to eat that is healthy. Going to head to the grocery store in a bit and stock up on healthy stuff.
How is everyone doing so far?

Oh yeah, I ate a ton yesterday. McDonald's, pecan tarts, pizza and cheese fries. I just had to get it all outta my system! -

I have a question for you all.....well two actually.
1. What is it about going on a diet that makes one pig out the day before? My sister is constantly starting diets and she pigs out the day before she starts each time.
and second question
2. How often will you all weigh yourself and tell us your loss in pounds/kilos or even inches/centimetres? -

I dunno why the pig out I thought I was the only one who did that lol. Going to be a while for we can eat what we want so do it up good. I went to the gym before work and weighed in at 190 want to get to 170. Was about to ask lips how often we report loss. Once a week sounds fair enough? On carb diet and had eggs and bacon for breakfast and had business lunch at restaurant broiled fish and salad. Fixing to have dinner soon pork chops. Good luck dieters f f lol.

Good luck all. Once a week sounds fair. I was bad and didn't eat breakfast. I had a spinach salad for lunch with an apple and cereal with low fat milk for dinner. I needed something quick because I didn't want to eat too late. Anyway, day one down and on to day two.
Oh and by the way I avoided pop totally today. I will sneak in a can tomorrow though. -

Went grocery shopping yesterday and picked up some Lean Cuisine frozen low fat meals, cereal, fruit, salad stuff, chicken breast, pasta and ok ok i know i said i wouldn't do it but got fat free cookies but promise to have two a day max!

Oh that sounds good and healthy too! My worst time of day to want to cheat is around 3-4pm just after lunch and not quite ready for dinner.
It is lunch time here and i think i will have a salad, yogurt and low fat Triscuits.
Stay strong and on track everyone! We are in it to win it! -

Valid point liquor we started later in the week so we have to make some exceptions for sure! Glad to see you are on track. One beer isn't bad at all neither is a one can of pop. I have to have might bite of something sweet. We all have weaknesses and should be able to have it in very small proportions that's what helps us to stick to our diet and not feel so deprived!
Looking forward to the weigh in!

Doing pretty good.
Stocked up on the boring low fat crap.
I have to eat hardly anything to get myself going.
Yesterday had 1 greek yogurt, 1 celery with low fat cream cheese and 8 Mike and Ike's.
Today: Had a small salad with a teeny bit of dressing, 1 greek yogurt (I am writing Chobani, I usually buy Okios and the Chobani was only 1/2 full... wth? I was starving!) , a cup of Special K cereal.
I am not a cereal eater, have not had cereal in years. I bought Special K vanilla almond. I had it with skim milk. It was really, really good!!
Keep up the great work all! -

Well done to all of you who have lost some weight. It's a great achievement.
Seeing the words "low fat" in Gabby's post reminded me of something I noticed with allegedly low fat crisps (I think you guys call them chips).
A normal small bag of crisps (chips) has 32g in it - a bag of low fat crisps (chips) only has 20g (and they charge you more) and that is how they get to call them low fat because in comparison to the 32g bags, they are less fat. It's a big con - make sure you guys know what you're buying. Anything can legally be called low fat if they reduce the size of the portion. -

So true Blue and glad you brought that up. Even some of the sugar free stuff is loaded down with calories and carbs and the carbs turn into sugar. Sometimes it can be worse for you.
I knew this one guy who was pretty heavy set and he would go to Mc Donald's and get the works; Big mac, large fries and have a Slim Fast with it. He thought if he had the Slim Fast drink it would somehow cancel out the rest. I was like nooooooooooooo you can't do that!
Anyway he ended up being a success story and lost i believe over 100 pounds. -

Was on the road last couple of days and had this diet club on my mind. Aight I had one day trashed and slipped and had bbq pork sandwich, fries and slaw. Got right back in the saddle after feeling my guy expand. Didn't get on scale until this morning and dropped 4 pounds folks. From the looks of it we all mean business and doing dang good. Expecting some tough love now for cheating lol. I got it coming I reckon.
