I hope people around the world differ Ukraine from Russia now (due to Putin  ). For many of them Moscow was the capital of Ukraine or Ukraine was a kind of city in Russia.

Sirin, the same thing there some people thinks that the capital of Lithuania is Ryga and so on... Many people thinks that Ussr still exist... But now we have google maps, Wikipedia and other sources, and still people don't know many important things. I believe, that to some people countries like Ukraine or  Belarus doesn't exist at all , it's just Russia to them

Just georgaphy does not belong to the circle of their interests. Many people live in ther small world and could ask you how long is to drive from New York to London

I've never heard of Honduras until they qualified for WC2014 so...
