  • I noticed that alot of classic movies are being remade and i myself would have stuck to the classics.I saw fright night for the first time and i felt it was awful  thumbs_down.What movies have you saw remade and did you like it or not huh

  • Great topic rena! I hated when they remade Karate Kid. I still have not even watched it and I never will. There are definitely some classic that are better left alone. Maybe I could buy into it a little more if the movies were older. Something from the 1980's isn't quite ready for a remake the way I see it.

They remade Footloose didn't they? And the Blues Brothers 2000.  hysterical

  • Two that I think should not have been remade are Peter Pan and War of the Worlds. To me they just did not stand up to the classics.

One that I did like was Pale Rider with Clint Eastwood.

    Good topic rena!

  • Yes i agree, great topic rena smiley

Being a movie fan i would have to say i actually like some of the remakes, but classics still stand out, but then some remakes are better than the classics in some cases, but everyone will have different views of which they prefer so it is going to be one of those subjects that can cause a lot of opinions and strong viewpoints lol,

but yes i actually dont mind some remakes, but some are bad and some are good, i could have given some examples but i just wanted to say my view hehe

Thanks for the thread rena smiley

  • Most of the times i will go for the original, cause there's nothing better then the real deal right?
But like Lucky said, sometimes i like the remake also, or like the remake better.

It's funny too see some of the title's they did a remake of, a lot of them i didn't even know it was a remake, check here:

  • Some are good, some are not.

For instance, I liked the remake of Scent of a Woman (Profumo di donna), an Italian film from the 70s.

The remake, starring Al Pacino, was probably just as good, if not better.

  • I love both original versions and remakes. One of my favorite movies is a remake - The Manchurian Candidate. The original is from 1962 and the remake was released in 2004.

  • on Tv here right now, The longest yard with Adam Sandler and Burt Reynolds, and after that comes Mean Machine with Vinnie Jones and David Statham.

Funny, but both these films are remakes from The Longest Yard with Burt reynolds from 1974

I like Mean Machine best, cause i like David Statham..............

  • just saw the movie THE THING and i liked the classic better thumbs_down

  • The Omen was way better in its original version. I love a good scary movie but the remakes don't seem to be as good. Well actually, the Psycho remake was better. I love Vince Vaughn and he was a real sicko in that one.

  • has anyone seen the new nightmare on elm street huh what did you think huh

  • Hmm I didn't see Nightmare on elm street yet.

I found a list of upcoming movie remakes:

I'm surely going to watch 'Carrie' but there are a lot of movies that will be very exciting to see.

  • thanks markotick kiss (i wanted to see 21 jump street but it wouldnt be the same without my first love johnny depp tongue

Thanks for the site Markotik, there are a lot of movies on there from which i want to see the remake...................can't wait
  • after u guys see them, let us know we u thought  wink

  • Carrie could be cool. I will watch out for that one.

I am horrified by the following:

Dirty Dancing (leave it alone for gods sake!)
    An American Werewolf in London
    Pet Cemetery
    Little Shop of Horrors
    Scarface

Thanks for the list Markotik smiley

  • That's for sure Froggy, there are movies that I'm not sure I want wanna see. So, I would add: The Crow and The Birds.
