  • Hiya Guys and Dolls,

For the most part once i have seen a movie i don't have an desire to watch again. But there are always those exceptions to the rule. My latest kick that i can't seem to click off Cable is Brides Maids. They have showed this a zillion times and every time i see it, its' like the first time. I think that movie is hilarious!

For classic films its God Father 1 & 2, Casino and Fried Green Tomatoes.

Do you have your favorites you could watch over and over again?

  • That's funny you say that lips. I usually have to go close to a year before I want to see a movie a second time but this is not the case with Bridesmaids. I crack up every time I see it. It's the only one I've ever felt this way about. OMG the scene on the plane is hilarious!

  • I've not seen Brides Maids so it looks like one I need to see.

Pulp Fiction  i can watch again and again.  The corny(ish) "The Day After Tomorrow" , "Uncle Buck", "The Usual Suspects" and "Taken".  There's probably a few others too....

  • I love a raunchy little movie with Cameron Diaz & Christina Applegate called "The Sweetest Thing", but you have to have the unedited version.  I make myself sick laughing every time I watch it.

I also love "Sabrina" with Harrison Ford, "Patriot Games" with Harrison Ford, and I'm a huge fan of RomComs from the 40's & 50's, having watched many of those over & over, particularly the ones with Cary Grant.

  • Pulp Fiction, Resevoir Dogs, Natural Born Killers......................Killing Zoe, The Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather movies, American History X, Psycho!!!, Silence of the lambs, Saving Private Ryan, Forrest Gump, The Green Mile, A clockwork orange, Fight Club ............oh man..............i can go on and on, there are so so many movies i have seen more than a couple of times..............but on top of my list and the movie i have seen more then any other movie, is Pulp Fiction

  • I almost put down Green Mile to my list cuz that is truly one of my favorites too. I have not seen  The Sweetest Thing or Killing Zoe and will have to add that to my list of movies to see.

    Lips

  • Oh, there are so many, I don't know where to start... Once Upon a Time in America, The Godfather, Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, The Good the Bad and The Ugly, Shawshank Redemption, La Vita e Bella, Scent of a Woman, The Unforgiven, Green Mile, Modern Times, City Lights, The Great Dictator, ... I could go on and on.

  • The Silence of the Lambs - Hannibal Lecter is simply the best! smiley

  • I don't know how many times I watched these movies... Psycho, The Birds, Gladiator, Fight Club... If I like a movie, I watch it at least twice. smiley

  • Omg i can't believe how many peeps favor Silent of the Lambs. I have never watched that movie once in its entirety cuz it kinda freaks me out to be honest! But i know it is a classical favorite for many.

The Birds was an awesome movie and if you ever read the background on the making of the film it is more chilling than the movie itself. Tippi Hedren that plays the leading role was behind the scenes tormented by the obsession the director Alford Hitchcock had for her.

Because she did not heed his sexual advances he made her life a living hell on the set by repeatedly having her shoot scenes with those birds. What appears to be fantastic acting is real terror that she experienced during those grueling unnecessary retakes.

I absolutely love the old black and white films. And don't think there is a single one that i wouldn't watch over and over. My all time favorite actor has to be James Cagney! It's the modern day Robert De Niro in his gangster films. Omg but how could i leave out Humphrey Bogart, Betty Davis, Joan Crawford...........

    Lips

  • I didn't know that about The Birds, but I know that Hitchcock used to put his actors in very uncomfortable situations so I've always thought that must have been the reason for such a real terror I could feel watching his movies.

  • Have to give this 1 a mention it's great i just love it!

  • OK maybe I lied. I've seen Uncle Buck a zillion times and Casino, Primal Fear, Bad Teacher. I saw the Sweetest Thing. I loved the deleted scenes. laugh_out_loud Those two are a great pair!

  • The Shining is a fantastic movie, watched it a few times... of course. smiley

If you don't like such movies, you won't fall in love with "The Silence of the Lambs", but you should watch it at least to see Anthony Hopkins playing Hannibal Lecter - his best role in my opinnion wink

"The Silence of the Lambs" is the best movie ever! Just like rodrigoalmeida said, Anthony Hopkins is simply fantastic as Hannibal smiley
  • I am going all softl on ya'll, no one has mention, The bodyguard, Dirty dancing, Pretty Woman and of course The Wizard of Oz. Just to name a few.
    Happy Easter all

  • OMG yes! How could I forget The Wizard of Oz. Side note: I just saw the prequel and although it was cute, I was not impressed. That actor, James Franco, was not the right wizard either.

  • There was a time when I watched all Aliens movies and all The Lord of the Rings movies once on a weekly basis. It must been Ive watched them more than 20 times, and now that I come to think of it I could watch them all again.

It seems to me that movies nowdays dont really have much of rewatch value, particularly in those more relaxing genres like action or sci - fi. I remember the time when it wasnt all about big boobs and porn quality acting.

The Bodyguard haha come on that was aload of crap!  wink
Bad memories anyway i remember some teenage fling some girl made me watch all that to the end so boring.
  • I like Wizard of Oz, as well and I agree with drtheolen, The Lord of the Ring is a fantastic movie.

I also watched a few times "Happiness" and "Dancer in the Dark" with Björk.

  • Love Lord of the Rings. OMG I remember watching those movies in the theater and being so mad that I had to wait a year for the next one. My precioussss!

  • I usually like the 'Lifetime' movies to watch again and again.

The Tracey Thurman Story, A Woman Scorned ( Betty Broderick), Small Sacrifices (Diane Downs).

The last hour of A Few Good Men, The Birds, Erin Brockovich.

There are so many movies I will watch again and again if they come on TV.

  • Lmaooooo as i am writing this post i have on Lifetime (LMN) and am watching Willed to Kill. I love LMN movies and the fact there are two channels for it is even better. I think i have seen every single movie that has ever come out on LMN five times over. And when there is a premiere i am like a kid in a candy store!

  • I have seen just about every Lifetime movie you can think of. Saw all those gabby. How bout The Burning Bed? Going for Broke was good too but it hasn't been on in ages.

  • i took notes of the movies you guys said here. I will try to watch these.. smiley

Good luck!  Let us know which ones you would watch again.

    blue
  • I have to say I am a major Sex and the City fan, so when both movies came out I can't even tell you how many times I have watched them. All is takes is me watching it for 2 seconds and I'm sucked in all over again, like I've never seen either of them before.

  • All Angelina Movies  smiley

Right now I keep watching Friends with Benefits  cheesy

  • All Angelina Movies  smiley

    Angelinaaaa  <3
  • As a major Tolkien fan, I can watch LOTR movies countless times - there's always something new I notice about them! But there are also other movies I can watch over and over again, like The Green Mile, Love Actually, Forest Gump, A Roman Holiday, Gone with the Wind, and I've always been a big fan of the Band of Brothers series. In general, all WWII movies are something I love to watch...

  • True Lies with Jamie Lee Curtis, Godfather, Pirates of the Carribean, Matrix, Jerry Maguire, The Kingdom.. just a few, I can't get enough of these

  • It is strange for me - although i hate watching the same movies more than once, i often only watch a movie twice if i didnt get it the first time round and it was a sci-fi film - (of course) sci-fi is my fav type of movie smiley

But i am open to a lot of movies - i am a movie geek i would say - but also i find if there is movies on the tv, even movies i watched, i seem to get stuck to them when there is nothing else to watch laugh_out_loud

so yes i dont like watching them more than once but sometimes i cant help it smiley

And answer to which i could probly watch over and over would be matrix trilogy smiley

  • Top Gun, Scarface, Die Hard, Raging Bull

  • The 1st 2 original Star Wars, especially Empire Strikes Back...
Star Trek II (Wrath of Khan) and IV (The Voyage Home)
Lethal Weapon 1 (back when Mel Gibson was hot...not so much anymore)
    Backdraft
Gladiator (Russell Crowe is such a hunk)
    Die Hard (1st one)
    Groundhog Day
Rio (because I have parrots and enjoy this one with my grandkids!)
    Shawshank Redemption
    Green Mile
    Pretty Woman
Murphy's Romance (romantic comedy with James Garner & Sally Field)

I'm sure there are more but this lists most of the movies I watch anytime they are on  smiley

  • I just have to mention they are discussing a 3rd Sex and the City movie. Just what I need another movie to obsess over!  laugh_out_loud

  • Oooh I can't wait for that fried eggs. I watched the show, the two movies and I've played the slot game. I can't wait for part 3. Maybe Carrie will have a baby or adopt. Should be interesting. Did you happen to hear when they expect to release it?

  • I would watch that show sometimes but I've never really got hooked on.... Samantha, she's the best. cheesy
