        Hey Gang,

Been awhile since I posted a story on here so here it goes...
Today I had to take my 9 year old daughter to the doctors for her yearly physical. Now I make my hubby come with us because I never know if they are going to give her a shot for something.( I can't take needles, I pass out.) So the doctor comes in and she is asking how things are going and if we are getting ready for school and making conversation.
She starts the exam and KABOOM!!!! Drops a bomb on me, tells me my baby is getting boobs!!! I was like boobs? She is 9!!! I didn't mean to yell at the doc, but I was in shock. I look over at my hubby and he is laughing to the point his face is red. I am starting to cry because my baby has boobs.  No mind you I can't see boobs yet but the doc says she feels mass there. I couldn't help it, I was crying.
So we leave and come home. My daughter asks if I am okay and I said "yes, just hate the fact your growing up!" About an hour or so later she comes down stairs for dinner and she has on one of my bras and stuffed it with socks. I was like " What the hell is that" My hubby is laughing hysterically. She says, the doctor said I have boobs so I wanted to see what it was like to have boobs like yours, and let me tell you if they grow this big I am cutting them off!" So there I was back to crying like a baby, see my baby with boobs. I can't take it. I don't want her to grow up, and now she has boobs!

Ahh I feel for you!  My dh had a similar moment the other day with his 15 year old son when it suddenly dawned on him that he and his girlfriend could possibly do more than 'hang out' .  I haven't seen him that freaked out in forever.

Hilarious and sad at the same time! I can relate, because the first time my boys had to start using deodorant I balled my eyes out. Like they were losing their innocence.
It felt like the next thing would be them moving out! And now my 10 y.o. is saying he needs to use dads shaver!! BooHooo!!!
        I love you Lori!

Can I tell ya I was tossing and turning all night. And that is the same way I feel Slots, like next thing she is going to move out. It is killing me. Then to top it all off, I asked my hubby how come he is not upset at the fact she is growning up like lightening in front of our own eyes? He has the nerve to say to me, "I think it is great, she is growing up to be her own person and we did a good job!" Well that pissed me off so I said " Yeah, we will see what Judge Judy has to say to that, when I take your proud happy a$$ to court for custoday pal! You know she hates men!" He is still laughing. I am still crying.

PS. I Love you to Beautiful! Call me sometime would love to catch up with ya!

I couldn't not jump in on this one.  I still walk around sometimes dazed and confused as to where the years went with my daughter.  She's 27 now and I've asked her a couple of times to please tell me what happened to that chubby little girl I had in 82.  One day she was just gone and it's sad.  First time I asked her that, my daughter says, 'thats not funny mom' and looked at me like I'd just gotten off a spaceship from another planet. So I tried to explain something to her that I knew she probably wouldn't fully understand  until she had her own child and as I told her about the wonderful relationship I had with that chubby little girl, the tears welled up in her eyes and she said 'stop it mom that's so sad.'  And then it hit me.  She's not gone.  she's still there inside this beautiful young woman smiling up so big at me.  She's just not chubby anymore.  I probably wont ask her again and she's glad.
Just enjoy every minute even the bad ones and never do anything to chase her away.

Awwww, it's such a lovely story! And it's good to remember that nothing lasts forever, especially those careless days of childhood. So the message that you and felicie sent us here is really something to thank for.

Now this is getting to me.  My youngest is about to turn 20.  My oldest is  32.  Years that at the time seemed to take forever are ...gone...
My grandkids - how the hell did they start growing up so fast.  The oldest is 7 now.  I didn't know what to say to them-hadn't seen them in so long.  Mom&Dad saying-here's your grandma.  The 7 year old remembered me.  I said "oh, you are soooo big!"  (thank goodness I thought of something and it was actually appropriate!)
He gave me a hug and reminded me I could send him presents either at Christmas, or his birthday, cuz it's right after Christmas.  He showed me a gaming magazine with all the new games and which ones he wanted.  So now I'm all trying to find free or really cheap Playstation 2 games that I could send to him and his brothers (5,autistic and 3-loves motorcycles).

It feels like tomorrow I'm going to wake up with great-grandkids and then the next day....

I had to call my mother to come and take her shopping for bras, I was hysterical in the store. My daughter says to me, "Mom it is no big deal, they are just boobs, you have them ya know." I lost it, we came home, she told her father what happened, he is still laughing! I'm not!
