Ok, So She Screwed Up Big Time........

Hiya Guys and Dolls,

Hope everyone enjoyed their Super Bowl Sunday. Yay Packers did it!! They were a solid team this year and deserved the title.

But there seems to be a bigger buzz about Christina Aguilera messing up the lyrics singing the National Anthem. I can understand that singing our nation's song is a high honor. And any singer should know the words frontwards and backwards.

Some reports are coming in that she should make a public apology and she was a disgrace to the US. Aside from the screw up, she really belted the song out and there was strong emotions in her voice.

Do you think the press is being too hard on her or do you think she should make a public apology?

I agree that she should know the lyrics and I'm sure she does. It was a mistake! It wasn't purposeful nor mean that she doesn't love or respect her country. If I'm being honest, I didn't even catch it.

The press are human beings... I think. Nerves get ya sometimes. There's more to life than Christina screwing up lyrics. How bout the fact that she pulled it off without even flinching. I say leave the poor thing alone! Geeze!

Everyone imo is antsy nowadays after the Janet Jackson fiasco.  Personally, I think the dustup is petty, but if an apology ends it, so be it.

Everyone makes mistake and she isn't exceptional.

I didn't even catch the mistake and I don't believe it will be a necessary for her to apology.
There is so much more going on in this world than picking on something not so important right now...

I caught the mistake and I don't think she owes any apologies! She knows she made a INTERNATIONAL mistake, that is enough punishment in itself!

With all the mistakes, she still was WAY better then Roseanne Barrs rendition.

Of course, the best was by Whitney Houston that one experience that actually sent chills up and down my spine.

In the words of John Lennon...." Let it be".  As stated above,I think we face way more stressing problems.I enjoyed the game and that's all that counts as far as I'm concerned.

I am one of those 'old fashioned... don't mess with my National Anthem... type of gals.

I know it's a huge guffaw to mess up the words.  I think singing the NA at the Superbowl is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon a singer.  That being said, she is humiliated enough and an apology would be words written by her publicist.  I don't need it.

What bothered me more?  The way she changed up the arrangement so much.  DON'T MESS WITH MY ANTHEM!!!     She can belt it out better than most and I was so excited to hear her sing it.

During the performance and afterwards, I was... Eh.... that's it.... Eh.

I thought the same about Whitney's performance until I learned she lip synched it.  That ruined it all for me.  It's much easier to sing a perfect rendition in the studio and only move your lips at the game.

That comment is absolutely wild. I was just talking to someone about this very thing. We got in a convo about the anthem and my friend said almost word for word what you said. That basically it is a shame how they try to change the melody and since it is the anthem it should never switched up and respect the song. 

Being one who loves to debate i was ready to do battle with this comment. I sat there for a minute trying to think fast to play devil's advocate. I was thinking to say, that as a singer they bring their own style to it. Nah, i thought i can't say that cuz damn this is sooooooooo true.

It was like a revelation! No singer should ever change the National Anthem. Then my friend belted me with another thought and asked me..........."Do you think any other country changes the melody of their Anthem, hell no"!

Oh my for once all i could do was............agree!

I feel so excited!  I can finally name a song sung by Christina Aguilera, if I'm ever asked.

Don't you remember Genie In A Bottle?  How about "Beautiful".  If you haven't heard Beautiful.. youtube it.. It is an awesome and Beautiful song.
