- This is unbelievable, I've tracked it down from several sources because I just couldn't believe something like this would make the news. Here goes:
A California preschool is shutting down after allegations of sexual activity among several of its 4- and 5-year-old students emerged. First Lutheran Church of Carson School is closing because of reports that two boys received oral sex from a 5-year-old girl on school grounds!
Attorney Greg Owen, who is representing some of the children's families, said the sexual acts took place at nap time, at a school playground and at an outside bathroom. "It all boils down to a lack of supervision," Owen said. "There were times when teachers would let aides in the room for hours at a time to watch the kids. During nap time, the aides would be sleeping, and the children would have been molesting each other during this time."
Richard McCarthy received complaints about this from his son: "He told me about all the bad things that girl had been doing to him," McCarthy said. "It went down in the classroom, it went down in the bathroom and it went down out on the playground."
This is beyond shocking but then again maybe it's not true, since kids do tend to exaggerate and tell all kinds of stories? What do you think?
What's sad is that one of those children has learned this from somewhere and started repeating it at school. If a child wasn't exposed to this, would he/she run home and tell their parents something like this? How does a 4 or 5 year old even know what that is? Very disturbing but I can't imagine children this young would make it up.

Kids often have unfettered access to computers, tvs and video libraries. Kids sadly, get touched up. Negligent parents dont close doors. Older siblings 'play' learnt behaviour on younger. Kids teach other kids.
It's wrong in every way, but probably more prevalent than we want to admit.
- What is really sad here is when things like this go down the first reaction is "maybe it's not true". I would pretty much bet this little girl was molested and there are two emotional reactions to cope. They withdraw or they carry out the actions.
The child either is too fearful to tell their parents because they have been threatened or fear they are "bad" and too ashamed. In many cases they are never believed by the their mother because the mother simply can't cope with it and goes into denial taking the easy road and hushing her child or telling her she provoked it.
I don't think any child at this age simply learned it by watching risque TV or movies. Children at that age have not even reached puberty yet to have such desires. Kids at that age have a mentality of "yuck" when seeing someone kissing!
- Closing the school seems odd. More like something that would be done after finding involvement by staff, not because they didn't notice something going on when they should have.
There has got to be a lot more to this story but I don't necessarily need to hear it. We all want more access to information but we don't really think about the consequences of all this technology and overexposure to formerly forbidden topics and pictures.
I guess back when I was that age, people blamed these sort of events on things like playboy magazine in the hands of teenage boys/girls. Now we can blame them on tv and the internet. But the real problem is and always has been the perverts who target children and exploit them for their own sexual pleasure.
