Online payments broker PayPal has admitted they made a pretty big mistake when they credited a man with $92 quadrillion! I don't know how many zeroes are in there

Chris Reynolds, aged 56, of Pennsylvania, found the mind-blowing amount when he opened his monthly statement from PayPal.

The error was quickly recognized and his account had returned to zero by the time he had logged in to check the facts.

"This was obviously an error and we appreciate that Mr Reynolds understands this was the case," PayPal said, adding they would offer to make a donation to a charity of Mr Reynolds' choice.

Luckily Mr. Reynolds didn't have a heart attack when he saw all these numbers in his account: $92,233,720,368,547,800

OMG What an error and what a shocker for the guy that received it.  I'd ask for 1% and be very happy with that

I'm with you blue! 1% is nothing to make up for the shock and disappointment!

:O That's a big mistake. I wouldn't have a heart attack because I'd think those are just some random numbers.

Yeah, he was the one that made things public, probably to force PayPal into giving him some compensation.

How in the world can someone make such a drastic error! I could maybe see it if they added a few extra zeros on the end but these are all sorts of numbers jumbled together!

Who ever did it is most likely out of a job. Heck i would settle for a few thousand lmao!

        Indeed,

But maybe they had a  loca script-virus or number generator who generated this error under the radar. I don't know, but it is inpossible to make an error like this i think, too many numbers.

It is strange that he didn't sue them for that, for the emotional stress or some other reqson:-) I would start spending the cash like a madman, and let PayPal set things straight afterwards :-)

Unfortunately he didn't have the time to spend any of it, they corrected the mistake quickly.

Wonder what would happen if he somehow managed to spend a little bit of it. Does Ferrari accepts PayPal?
