I've heard about scams like these...some guys even show up.  And believe you me, there is no "Mistress Katherine" on the other side of the door.  Try a group of professional thugs that kidnap you for ransom.  And if they don't get what they want...bang, bang, bang (no pun intended).  Anytime something like this is received the red flag MUST go up no matter what it's content.  ESPECIALLY in border/coastal states.  You could disappear in no time flat and by the time anyone notices you are gone it's too late.
