HELP!! Doe's anybody know what I can do at home to cure a pinched nerve?!! I did go to urgent care last week, I was taking Norco for pain (I might as well been eating M&M's for pain) I am allergic to codeine so I can't take Vicodin..(DAMN IT!!) I have soaked, had a professional massage, iced it, heating pad, exercised...still it hurts and is very annoying, actually its a pinched nerve combined with Sciatica and I tried the stretching exercises recommended for Sciatica too......any thoughts?

Ouch ally i am sorry to hear that. That is very painful. Sounds like to me you are doing everything right. I think your only healer is rest and time.

I hope you get better soon

Try the red Activon(active-on?) or extra strength tiger balm you can find at walmart,etc...
sometimes they work miracles...good luck-I know how you feel.

        Ouch is right :'(

I would continue doing what you are doing, and keep doing the stretches. I know that is painful..ugh.

Keep using the heating pad, and like chilly said, Tiger Balm is awwwesome.

        Good luck

I hope you feel better soon

Thank you guys for your thoughtfulness and advice,as soon as I can get myself dressed I'm going to limp my butt to the car and go to Walgreens for some Activon (thanks Chilly!), I have a laundry list of health issues and I swear it really gets old,it's like RoseAnn Rosanadanna used to say..."it's always something"!!

        Thank you all again

        Ally,my girl!!!

Seems like we haven't talked forever and sorry to hear you are in pain...

It does happened to me sometimes and this is what I use and suggest you if you are okay with menthol.
There is pads called SalonPas which is good for any --------Lower Back Pain, Arthritis,
        Muscle pain,Joint pain,Neck pain,Shoulder pain,Sprain & Strain,Moderate pain and etc.
I usually buy it from Costco,CVS and Korean market and haven't checked other pharmacy to see if they have it but heard Rite Aid sells it too. Price is very reasonable and it won't hurt to try...I have been using it my entire life...heh heh.
        Hope you feel better,sweetie!

Hey allyoop I know the feeling. Had the same nerve pinch on me. As the years have gone by, the pain does taper off, but when it's REALLY feeling mean, it does make it hard to do anything (Including using the toilet) and all I can say is "See a chiropracter" (If you can afford it)

Oh and cold and then hot packs alternating them about every 30 min. Use a package of peas for the cold, mark it so nobody eats it or the damage could be worse!

Again I want to thank you all for your input and kindness,I really really appreciate it and it is heartwarming,I went to Walgreens and bought the Activol at Chillymellow's suggestion (THANK CHILLYMELLOW YOU,IT HELPED A LOT!) I also got some Aleve and took 3 of them last night and rolled Activol all over the affected area and actually slept thru the night!! I'm still walking "funny" but it is better so I will just keep doing the ice/heat/rest/exercise/stretching/soaking/praying/Activol/Aleve thing until I can drop it like Beyonce....oh wait a minute, I could'nt do that before the Sciatica so I don't know whadahell I'm talking about now!! LMFLAO=laffing my fat limping azz off

lmao Ally- So glad all the advice helped.

Just love your long list....ice/heat/rest/exercise/stretching/soaking/praying/Activol/Aleve....I guess that will keep you busy most of the day.
