There still is a good market for postal services which is shipping goods rather than letters. But the market is quite competitive with companies like UPS or DHL or FedEx...

It's been happening for quite a while here Rosebud.  It's hard to find a post office these days and they are now talking about cutting more postal workers which means late deliveries and so on.  Makes me wonder where all the cuts will end.

Well, for years it was known that the pay wasn't the greatest, but the benefits were. Now it's 30 years later and the pay is great and bennies even better. Not dissing the union, but that's where some blame is and so it's also in the lap of management when they were making money, there was no real drive to keep costs down as there was no competition and now there is, but costs have gone up while profit has gone south.

The Postal Service is broke, financially.  Big changes are very necessary.

The Postal Service is another Government agency that is a failure.

And it shows the destruction of an agency where the employees have a "I don't give a damn....and I can't be fired" attitude.  Worst attitude among employees I've ever seen.
