  • Its that time of year again,. Whats everyones resolutions?

  • Hmm, aside from the obvious losing weight, my resolution is to focus on one thing at a time instead of trying to do multiple things at once!  dizzy

  • great idea eggs smiley

  • I'm setting the bar low for next year, I just want a nice vacation since I didn't have a proper one this year smiley

  • I don't like setting myself resolutions because I always break them so i'm gonna go with the proper holiday too.

  • I don't make any resolutions. I prefer to look back and realize how great I did in the past year. wink

  • i dont make any resolution also
what must be, it will be

  • This year has been pretty long and busy for me, between buying a better car and renovation of my mountain cottage and a lot work on the other side, there wasn't much time for rest and fun. So in the next year i plan to take it easy, dedicate more time to my girlfriend and my dogs (maybe even take them to some dog show), travel a bit and just enjoy life smiley

  • I just realized I have never made a NY resolution.. Not sure if I will do it this time either...

  • My New Year's resolution is to lose a few pounds, quit smoking, quit drinking and quit gambling. Hell on second thought that would be a bummer 2014. Let me revise that.......do all the above......lmaoo!

  • Hahahah, I think that the resolution should be to do all the things that make you happy smiley

  • What year with no cocktails lips. Boooooooring! I will work on finishing things that I start so I guess that means I better think about starting anything.

  • Lmao Froggy! Good one!

  • No resolutions - I don't see the point, you're just putting off changes for some future arbitrary date. If you truly want to make changes, you'd just do it today.

  • Yep same, no need for resolutions, 90% of people break them anyway.

Just do what you want to do.

But at least i did stop smoking 10 and a half months ago smiley

  • I have a few, some are more important than others.

    - Cutting down smoking to 10 a day (Not essential, but I want to of quit by new year 2015).
    - Quit gambling, It's already 2 weeks since my last deposit.
    - Take part in "dry January" and have the whole of Jan alcohol free, followed by a big reduction in the amount I drink.
    - Eat a least 5 portions of fruit and veg a day.

That's about it. The reason i'm making these changes in the new year and not now is because they require willpower. 2013 has been 1 of the worst years ever and I feel like I need a clean slate with a new year to help my willpower

  • Marcus that is a tall order to fulfill all at once. But being two weeks in on gambling means your on your way. Hope 2014 is a much better year for you. Let us know how your progress is.

  • Fingers crossed Marcus, your resolution seems serious and I hope you will check items on your list one after another, and have a successful year altogether!

  • I could stand to lose a few pounds around the middle. Need to find a good diet I can stick to in 2014.

  • So I have put some thought into this... as it gets closer to 2014 I have come up with some hopefully doable resolutions.

First and foremost, continue on my so far successful weight loss program. Last year I made a resolution to stop drinking soda and loose 20 pounds. Check

So this year I'm going to try for 40 pounds and stop eating fast food and so much fried food

Second... Rein in my online gambling budget... let's be honest here folks. The remaining US operators have really tightened the grips on how much free money and withdrawal methods there offering. So really I'm really going to try once again to see more land based casino play and less online. Yet we'll see how well that goes after a few loosing streaks again land based.

    The third and not least
I'm going to propose to my friend who I have been dating for 5 years, and hopefully get married sometime in the next 2 years. Yet I have to get up the guts to propose.

  • All great responses guys and girls. I love the community here.

since i started this thread, figured i would give my resolutions.

I generally dont make them since I am not a fan of New Years. Being an ex alchoholic, New
Years is one of those days I try not to participate in. not because I want a drink, but drunk people just annoy me when im sober.

Having said that, this year will be full of changes. First and foremost if my outlook on life. I have a genrally mean disposition as of late and have a year long bad mood it seems. Im always bitching about something. Although many of my gripes are most indeed warranted, i need to stop complaining all the time and stop worrying about shit i have no control over and move on.

Second, I plan to finish what i started. i have a bad habit of buying domain names and making all these big plans, then a week later giving up on them. Out of the the 20 or so domains I have purchased this year, only 1 is actually up, and its not even half done. This goes for everything in my life as well as I have this habit in other aspects of my life.

Third, i plan to be not so nice anymore. This may sound odd and contradictory to me not being in a bad mood, but many of my problems stem from me being too nice of a guy. By this i mean, lending money when I know Ill never see it again, giving people 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th chances and always getitng screwed.

The old saying, fool me once shame on you, fool me 20 times shame on me, is in full effect in my life.

Fourth, yes theres more. I plan on focusing more on my daughter. this should be first, but im not going in any specefic order, just throwing them out there. I started to realize, that I dont make enough time for her. I dont let her be a kid when i should and I need to do more with her. Dont get me wrong, i do plenty for her and she is better off than most kids, but theres more ot being a good parent than buying your child everything she wants.

Finally, we have my gambling problem. I dont gamble enough. Gambling is one of the true passions i have outside of my life. I was big into it, responsible as always, maybe too responsible I might say. But here lately, i havent done nearly as much playing poker, and gambling in general as I want to.

And as far as me being responsible with my gambling, I need to be a bit more reckless. not in the sense where I blow my wad on a  dumb bet or put all my roll on the table. I need ot take more chances. Part of being a good gambler is taking calculated risks and i usually stray on the side of caution, too much.

True, you cant lose money you dont bet with, but you cant win any either. I passed on many opportunites that most other smart gamblers would have taken. Time to loosen the grips and start living a bit.

Again, awesome shares and I love the fact that we can all share this type of stuff. On many forums out there, people tend to get carried away and what was meant to be a light hearted, fun thread, turns into a bashing/trolling war.

Im happy to say, that none of that goes on here at LPB.
