  • I know I have a bunch of old useless stuff lying around the house and I bet most of you do. Some people put it to good use, here's an example that might give you a few ideas:

    CD spindle earring stand

Have you ever done something like this? If so, you might add some more ideas wink

  • Its amazing how creative people can be.

  • Here's an idea for tennis fans:

  • These are great.  I'm useless at this kind of thing.

    blue

  • Those ideas are really great and I'm useless as well.

In general,, I don't hoard anything; I easily make decision to throw out things I don't use anymore.

  • Love the tennis rackets. I saved wine corks forever and I had these big plans of making a table but I never did and I have no idea what happened to all those corks. I had to drink lots of wine to save all those! I saw once where someone had cut them in half and glued them to a table top. Place your glass on top and you've got a pretty spiffy table. Oh well, I better start saving again. laugh_out_loud

To my surprise, I already had a few lying around. wink

Oh no, you could have started emptying a few more bottles in order to save the corks tongue
  • I plan to Johnny! laugh_out_loud

  • I am ALWAYS picking up little things to "make something out of" so this is right up my alley.

Recently I found a site where projects such as these are out there with instructions- more stuff than you would ever imagine can be made from anything.  http://blog.makezine.com/projects/  is the site- take a look there for hints.

One project I like is making things from old vinyl record lps or 45s.  http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/vinyl_record_bowl  is a link for how to make the easiest...bowls.  They are good for all kinds of things and very easy to make.

  • I've taken the top of a wicker hamper and put a $1 mirror in the middle and then hot glued leather around the mirror.

Looks pretty cool in my powder room.

I have a 'thingy' in my kitchen that holds wine corks.  I wrapped foliage around the 'thingy' and never put corks in it. smiley
  • I often reuse things in a different way.  I need to look around my house to pass on ideas.

One thing I do for my showers.  I don't buy shower curtains.. instead.

I buy 2 shower rods and place one in the standard spot and the other a few inches above the first.

I buy a single curtain and a valance.

The curtain goes on the bottom rod and the valance on the top.

It really gives a warm and more luxurious look instead of a plastic shower curtain.

    Another thing I have done:

I have taken a slim clear glass vase and filled it with rocks.  Adds texture to a shelf on the wall that may have a photo and candle.

  • Gabby, we'd love to see some pictures of those wink

Here's another idea for the tennis fans:

  • I use my bath towels twice....  I bet you guys had noooo idea I could do that!  wink

  • LOL I've been know to use them three times jodi!

  • Book keepsake box

  • That's a really good idea.

  • LOL Who doesn't need this:

Use Cupcake Wrappers to Prevent Popsicles from Dripping

  • Seriously Mark, you have solved all my problems. Wow that is so simple yet I never thought of it.

I came across this and I think it's really cool. Good use of a ladder.

  • Wow, that ladder idea is brilliant! I'm going to show it to my wife wink

  • Ha! Let me know if she agrees to it. I want that in my office. I need to find a used wooden ladder now hmmm... Yeah maybe right after I make a cork table I'll get right on that.

  • :)

  • Froggys corks reminded me of the big bags and boxes of tin can tops and gum wrappers that were going to be something one day, its been over 15 years saving those lmao.... "don't throw away those gum wrappers im going to make place mats out of them!!" Coffee cans. gallon jugs, and covered plastic containers are my big saving mistake lol,

um coffee cans are my burglar alarm, I got stacked up in front of my old doggie door, if someone tries to come through it they will fall over and make a lot of noise..lol

I've re-used coffee filters and water bottles, oh how shameful that's all ive done! Ive got so many idea but im too lazy to do them

  • A new use for an old bicycle

  • OMG that is sooooo cool!

  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • The bike trick is awesome, but it doesn't look that safe to me smiley

  • I collect cool and unique liquor bottles and plan on putting all different things in them for the bar I plan on opening one day! I have bags of them just laying in a corner, it's probably time to get rid of them but it's like closing the book on that dream. Who knows maybe one day...

  • Oh fried-eggs that's a great idea for a bar. Don't give up on your dream. smiley

  • That's a fun dream. Our very own female Tom Cruise in Cocktail! smiley

I dream of having my own coffee shop. Not really sure it will ever come true but there's absolutely nothing wrong with dreaming. However, I do hope that yours will come true.
