Everyday for the past 2 weeks or so there has been some serious mating going on among the seagulls. I step outside and there they are. The poor female has to have the male pouncing on her back. laugh_out_loud Its so wrong yet I watch in horror. The female straightens herself up and flies away. shocked

This woman I was talking to in town asked if the local seagulls bother me. The noise doesn't really get to me. She goes on to tell me how she can't stand them and she gives them something (I forgot what she said it was) to blow up their tummies. I was like surprise

What are your local "pests"? Do you mind them being around? What are some of things you have done to shooo them away?

Pigeons and seagulls are the pests around here.  They are all gathering sticks for their nest building.  I don't feed them and I would never do what the woman you spoke to does.  That's just mean.

Where I'm living now we do not have a problem with them but when I lived on the East Coast and along the coast of Lake Michigan they were a problem.

I think I heard of people giving them alka seltzer to blow up their stomachs.Pest or not I could never do something like that!!

I guess there's room for everybody around here, people and seagulls and all sorts of other living things. Maybe we are pests for them too so hopefully they are not mean enough to blow up our tummies.

lol could you imagine? The animals setting traps for us. Now that would be something.

The squirrels and rabbits used to eat up the veggies in the garden and that would make me a little angry but they were just so darn cute I didn't care.

I can't even fathom someone killing seagulls and in such a cruel way and then to top it off talk so proudly about what she has done. There should be some type of law against tampering with nature like this.

How annoying can they really be? They make noise, but it isn't like they get into your home or invade your space while outside......argggggggg

There's no excuse for such behavior, and she was bragging about killing the seagulls. Tragic!

I felt the same way Imagin. Something must be wrong with me but I have never seen such a thing. There was no romance with the seagulls. laugh_out_loud

OMG there is a baby seagull on the ground outside. The mother is out there squawking so she will feed it right? I hope no one messes with it or it doesn't get hit by a car. There's no way I can get it back on the roof it fell from because the momma would peck me to death. Why doesn't she just pick him up? This is stressing me out and I need to forget about it cause there's nothing I can do right? What to do?

This is how small he is...
