sorry for not being on

hi all,

i havent  been posting this last few weeks after being a very active member for about 2 months and getting to know quite a few of you.
Have been having a few issues at home with the father of my daughter who has finally decided to get to know her after 11 years of ignoring her, he was great first 3 months and had now turned into a bit of a bleep again am sure the single mums out there who have been through it can relate to me and what im going through but have missed my time on here and being able to relax n post so hopefuly am back now and can get back to enjoying a bit of fun and laughter 
If any of the single mums on here have any advice on handling a man who is one minute a great dad again and next min back to where we were 11 years ago plz feel free to pm as i could to with the advice lol

Good to see you back! I don't have any advice since I'm not single and definitely not a mum but I guess you're better off without that lad, after all you raised your daughter by yourself over 11 yeas and I'm pretty sure you did a good job.

It's nice to see you back on the forum xbornluckyx. Sorry to hear about the troubles with your ex-husband. I don't have any good advice, but perhaps you'll get in touch with someone here to share experiences.

Happy you are back with us again! May be the dead beat dad needs a good talking to. Not in his daughter's life for 11 years and then suddenly resurfaces only to vanish again causes emotional issue for her i am sure.

How does your daughter feel about seeing him again? She should be the one to make the decision whether or not he is worth the heartache. If she wants him back in her life then he needs to shape up or ship out!

I am sorry you and your daughter are going through this.

I have never been in the situation.  I guess what I would do is reinforce your daughter YOU love her, YOU will always be there for her, she can't count on and depend on you. 

I would try not to bad mouth the dad, she is a product  of him.  (On a side note, I always really liked Christie Brinkley, had 2nd thoughts when she, during a TV interview, referred to husband 3 as Satan.  Satan is the father of her son, Jack.  What does that make the little boy?  Son of satan?)

I would probably say the dad loves her but doesn't know how to be a proper dad.  She can decide if she wants to allow him in her life if and when he shows up again.

I am glad to say that things are looking up and there has been a lot more contact again and my daughter is feeling much better.
I think once he realised how upset she was it gave him a kick start to do something and hopefully will be smooth running from now on
