Taking other people avatar

I have often seen an avatar that i liked and i admit i saved it. I have only used an avatar once that i have taken  that i liked. I saw a situation a while back that someone not only took another persons avatar but their user name. I joked with a person that i wanted their username,but i would never do that. How would you feel if you happen by a forum and saw your username or both had been taken. I am in the market for a new username so watch out(just kidding).

Not a smart move to steal over usernames here but sometimes you can accidentally create an account with similar nickname, like rena34 or rena355

If someone did that to me on another forum (name and avatar), I would assume they were trying to make out they were me.  I would NOT be very happy that's for sure!  As for nicking avatars, unless it was a personal pic, I would say it's ok providing it wasn't currently in use by the original user of the avatar and maybe ask them if they minded you (general term, not you as such) using it.

I've spent hours looking for a pic of a horse I stumbled across a few years ago to be my avatar and I can't find it anywhere.  It was the most stunning horse I've ever seen.  Wish I could find it again...

I am not sure that I would mind if someone grabs my avatar (I would change it, and if it repeats, just try to pm that person), but taking a username (or an obvious variation) is a bit rude by me... Would contact the admins asap...

Mods can be affected too. I was playing a tournament yesterday and saw a name that is not common and only 1 person i know has it in a great rank. I told her way to go on her tournament spot and she was confused. Seems someone took her name and was spinning away. She was upset and said it made her angry when things like that happened.

I wouldn't mind if someone takes my avatar, but then again, I'm not worried that anyone wants my avatar.

How can a username be copyrighted?! I know that some big companies tried to copyright some words, like Apple

I have seen some pretty awesome usernames but i like mine. Maybe one day i will change names just to see if i like it. As far as usernames go you have to be a complete idiot to think out of all the users in cyber space you would say your username has a copyright. Get a life .

I don't plan to change my username anytime soon. But I still don't really get what's all the fuss about copyright, can't people just mind their own business

Hahahaha if there are any other jodiisgreat's out there I'm just gonna have to send them a polite message and let them know that they are not as great as me, therefore username null and void lol.
