        Hiya Guys and Dolls,

Now i know how the poor Irish folks felt when they were left without rafts and locked in at the bottom deck of the Titanic. After flying if you were not first class then you just didn't matter.

As the plane was about to take off the flight attendants went through their usual routine of oxygen masks, life preservers and the seat belts. As most of us probably do not fly first class because it is a zillion dollars i was in the economy seats. When the flight attendant explained the seat belt she mentioned that first class has a shoulder strap as well for added protection!

Now what does that say to the rest of us? Go ahead and fly out of your seats and break your neck cuz we simply don't care?

As i checked in at the kiosk at the terminal i had an option to pay $55 more dollars for a "Economy Plus" seat which allowed more leg room. After being crammed in a four row center aisle on the way there i ceased the opportunity and bought the seat with 5" more leg room.

I am not exactly what you call tall but for the added comfort for a 9 hour flight i thought it would be well worth it. The flight was not full which was even better cuz i had the entire row to myself.

I was in the first row AFTER first class and in front of me were the washrooms. I thought wow this is a nice seat and nice and close when i need to tinkle. WRONG! As i got up to go and was just opening the washroom door i was told "ma'am you are not allowed to use this washroom it is reserved for first class. You have to go to the back of the plane to use it"!

I was like are you kidding me? I am like two steps from it but i have to travel to the back of the plane?? Oh my and thing is, half of the passengers in our section were using it and i just happened to be the one who got nailed by the snotty flight attendant. Not one other attendant said a word to anyone else.

Oh and the food yum.......gag me with a spoon. As they went further back on the plane they ran out of rolls for the rest of the passengers and it was like "oh well" too bad so sad! How do you run out of rolls? Don't they account for how many passengers they have? Or did first class request two or three rolls.

We were also told to be courteous to first class when roaming the plane and stay behind the blue curtain that they had drawn to separate us. They had reclining seats to rest and they didn't want to be disturbed by us little peons!

Ok the way i see it we made have not paid 7k for those seats but when you are flying international they are not cheap no matter where you sit.

And don't ya just know half those passengers were Airline employees! First class was filled to the rafters while the rest of the plane was half empty.

We had pasta or chicken as our menu choice........hmm i wonder what first class had. Maybe they were hand fed grapes and caviar?

Wow!  Nothing like segregating the plane and letting it be known, at every turn, they coach is 2nd class citizens.

I've been told the restrooms in front are only for business class but to be told to be courteous to the first class passengers?  Hmmm, shouldn't everyone be courteous to everyone?

And... it's not like your tickets were a couple hundred bucks.  Everyone on that plane paid big bucks. Funny thing is, the business class probably didn't dish out a dime for their flight, it was probably company paid for.

Fogot to add... nothing like making everyone in the rear feel unworthy 'in case of an emergency'.  I can't believe they get extra protection.  Unbelievable.

Yep gabby it was unreal. Wouldn't you think that would be considered prejudice to some degree to segregate safety? I would think it is considered illegal.

I mean what did the big boys at the table say as they designed these planes? Save the first class passengers with added safety features and let the poor folk fin for themselves. I should write the airline!

          That's disgraceful Lips.

"We were also told to be courteous to first class when roaming the plane and stay behind the blue curtain that they had drawn to separate us."

Be courteous to frist class passengers...I would see red if someone said that to me.  I'd be saying "on yer bike love" or "if they treat me with the same respect then I will too".  How really  annoying that must have been.

I'd have been as fed up as you sound too Lips.  Sorry it was such a crap experience.

Yeah, I know how it feels to be on the wrong side of the "blue curtain". I flew to Shanghai last year, a 12-hour flight, and I did stare at that blue curtain for quite a few minutes...

You see, at certain moments the blue curtain was leaving a bit of space between it and the wall and that was my chance to see the happy faces behind it

Lips...sorry about the confusion regarding your seat.

But, as one who flies first class a lot, due to business trips and lots of miles racked up, keep in mind First Class passengers get a few perks because they pump a LOT of money into the airlines.  Think of the "diamond" players card at the casino!

And, yep, we want our own potty.

But Doc... more safety in the event of an emergency?

I would write a letter to the newspaper and CC it to the airlines describing being squashed into my cheap seat about to embark on hours and hours of flight only to hear the select few would be more protected.

Kinda like being on the Titantic and having too few life boats.
