Looking for work that is. After 9 months of these cheap assed companies offering $9 an hour (Or less) I finally decided to go back to school. Yes, 2 years of school and while I may not make it, I have little to lose as right now, if I was to get one of thsoe cheap jobs, I'd end up almost worst off them I am now.
Looking at Pharmacy Tech and I still have TRA bennies and what with financial aid and working part time )Ok, cheap jobs will help) I should get by and graduate with hope.
It's either that or move and right now, I am just not too sure that it would be any better then staying here. I meet with TRA rep Thursday and start the (Arrrggghhh!) paperwork to get registered.
Wish me luck and sorry if I scared anyone
- Oh Gene:
I think it is a wonderful decision to go back to school. This will change your direction and give you that needed shot in the arm. Give you hope again. I know it has been such a long process of looking for work, and coming up empty or with lousy offers.
I happened to of went thru the Pharmacy Tech program in my business college, and it is a great opportunity. They are always in demand, and if you get to the right place, pays very well. When your school is finished, try being placed in a hospital pharmacy vs a drugstore pharmacy.
Keep us updated on your progress while registering, and let us know your first day of school.
This is very exciting, Wishing you the best of everything.....
- wish you the best geneco,
Pharm tech would be my first choice if I didnt join the university before. Its great that you can get financial aid, unlike me, I have to pay $3400 this quarter (10 weeks), it hurts my pocket, hurt me, lol, but thanks to purevegas, slotoasis, rushmore and slottocash for supporting me in this
- Could you please not worry me like that? I was :o thinking you were leaving us too! whew!
NOW...... I wish you the best of luck in school, and who knows..maybe you'll meet someone who can get you in the door with a great company. Everything happens for a reason, and this could be the best decision you've made yet. You just never know. Best wishes.
- WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!! WTG GENE!!
My son that just graduated from high school started the Certified Pharmacy Tech program in August, he will be done by October of next year! Where I live, the average salary is about $35k a year. Which isn't much but the health benefits, 401k and paid vacation that most of the Hospitals and Pharmacy's offer are worth at least $10 in my book. GOOD LUCK GENE!!!!!!
P.S. I might just follow in your footsteps, this unemployment stuff BITES!
- A very good choice Gene. Education is the number one must have in the
economy today. I am trying to convince my 17 year old to go on to college after he graduates from high school next year otherwise he can stay at mcdonalds and burgerking for the rest of his life!!! I think he is starting to realize this. Good luck and you can do it!!!!
