when I was in first grade, heading to second, during summer we visited a farm, on this farm it had horses and some donkeys and of course all the other farm yard animals, but these I remember most, anyways during this visit I came across two horses... uh doing the wild thing you know what I mean, it was just for a few last moments I saw this as I recollect, the male was just done and had released his partner lol..and as this happened his male bidness just kind of fell out and was swinging from him almost hitting the ground, as I saw this my eyes were wide open, almost the look as if it was a frightful scene.. I quickly asked my mother.. "mommy..mommy..MOMMY what is that big long pink thing?" she answered with uh that's a donking, at least that's what I thought I heard her say.. as she answered she tugged me away from there and said, lets go see the chickens, her mind at that time was probably thinking it was much less of a complication in explaination about chickens and eggs, as im being tugged away im looking back at the pink thing and thinking oh a donking... anyways the visit ended and im back to school the first few days, the teacher wanted us to come up front to tell about our summer vacation, I raised my hand up, she picked me. I got up stood up in front of the class and told them I went to a farm, I explained I saw cows and chicken and goats, and I learned that a horse got a donking.. the teacher asked (which she shouldn't of) "a donking?' Yeah, it looks like a big long pink snake, it was there when the horse tried to piggy back ride the other horse..it was just swinging everywhere.. I can think back now at how quickly and smoothly that teacher scooted me from in front of the class and out that discussion, but at least I know now that horses don't have donkings, and what it really was I saw that day...I wonder to this very day if my mother should of told me the truth or just let me continue thinking that a horses male bidness is a donking, I really believe I would not of understood and would of been more confused or more curious..i think that these kind of things affect our personalities and enable us to handle things in life light heartedly, humorously..so maybe she did the right thing?

Hmm... As a kid I've never been on a farm so I'm relieved for both my parents and me.

First and foremost guuuurrrllllll........what a nice surprise to see you again! I have missed ya to bits and always love reading your stories.

And this story is no exception! It is so precious to look back at the innocence we have as little ones including the humor of what we are told by our parents. I think you are right certain things do mold us and our perceptions. That could of been a very scary moment for a little girl and sounds like mom handled it very calmly. But i bet inside she was like holy s**t lemme get her out of here in a hurry!

I think your mom did a helluva job because you are lighthearted and have a sense of humor!

hiii Lips, I have missed you too so very much!! I have missed everyone!! Thank you for your wonderful reply... I also think its amazing, im thankful to have these wonderful memories to go back and see how life was and is, honestly I don't know how I would of handled me in that situation
Would I have been straight forward and explained or did as my mother did and spurt out the first thing that comes to mind as she whisks me away, it must of been a real donking situation, lmao..

Living in Vegas had to make some changes in my life, I knew it was coming, at the top of the list was gambling, the gambling bug bit me!! I had the fever!, I did it though so very hard but I went cold turkey, didn't go near a machine, casino or any affilliations.. and guess what, over time I had a lot more money, weirdest feeling not being broke one hour after payday lmaoo... I really had to put it under control, I did it and im doing well

And Markotik, you never been on a farm? You mean only as a kid right? Farms are the sweat, the roots, the blood and tears, the veins, the reasons, the fuel, the heart and soul, our ancestors paychecks, its how we survived as a civilization and became we were are today

Welcome back Imagin! :* This post sure is a great way to get back to your LCB family - you got me falling off the chair laughing, especially with the class discussion part!

As times go by, I more often wonder what I'd do in a situation where I need to explain something so natural, yet so tabooish - and I simply don't know. I guess it just depends on the parent's current state of mind and the ability to find the best answer; and I think your mum did a good job - she just wasn't aware how big an effect the whole picture had on you!

Glad things are looking up for you imagin and so appreciate you candor! There is plenty of open discussions at LCB and that's the beauty of it all. Even if you retire from gambling you can still come and visit and talk about anything from soup to nuts! So stick around awhile because you truly are a blast

Hey Imagin! So nice to see you back with us again. Loved your post. Your mom did the right thing. You wouldn't be Imagin.ation if you hadn't seen a donking with your own eyes! Hilarious.

When I was little I asked my mom what it meant to have your period cause an older friend was talking about it on the way home from school. My mom actually looked at me and told me that it's when you go to the doctor and the doctor gives you a shot in your belly button. She swears she never said it but SHE DID!

Froggy, you reply reminded me of my daughters first encounter, now she knew a little about it already I discussed it lightly, its hard to really know the right time, anyways she came home from school with this packet of sample tampons, napkins, deordorant and pamphlet, I asked her what it was she had, she kind of sighed, rolled her eyes up and said, come on mom you mean your school never told you, so she explained the whole thing to me, it was the weirdest feeling lol
