I'm so frickin' annoyed.
If a neighbor reported my 2yr old wandering the street and the cops came to my house and found me watching TV and drinking beer, I would be charged with child neglect.
This so called mom NEVER reported her 2yr old missing. NEVER! The grandma did after 31 days and NOTHING happens to her?!?
Casey can now make millions for her story, appearances, books, etc.
Hell... She can go on TV and say "The prosecutors got a few things right, I'm smart, a great liar and I told the defense what to say and I got away with murder!"
What would happen to her then? Nothing! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( -

I don't know why but I knew that she was going to get away free...even though evidences in front of our eyes are so clear and simple that she did kill her girl...heck, her own father said she did.
Just how many sick cases of cruel murder we have seen walk free and not get punished in the past?
Now the precious little girl's life was born in wrongs and ridiculously lost without the justice......
If this is not sickening what else is....................... amp; >:( -

Now George and Cindy are getting death threats.
George is being called a child molestor by driver by'ers.
Jury ducked out the back and refuse to speak to anyone. In the words of Casey Anthony's aunt, 'The jurors weren't very bright or too lazy'. Amen to that. Jurors came in dressed the the nines KNOWING they would come back with a verdict today.
Alternate juror: Thought George was lying. (What about Casey????) Thought it was a horrible accident and George and Cindy covered it up.
Did we watch the same trial?!? -

You said it, sweet. So basically, we're screwed.
lol, it's flawed, but of course, anyone who disagrees with any point of it would say it's flawed
i beleive it's flawed as well but it's the best we've got until a generation of slot-spinning, tv-watching, viideo-game addicts does something to change it

lol, we're a generation of gripers and complainers but not a huge generation of 'do-ers'.....I'm surprised how often I see a post about someone complaining about a political action or court decision or government decision, yet...don't vote, don't attend rallies, don't sign viable petitions, don't attend public debates et c...they want changes, but well, don't do anything to make changes lol

Someone elsewhere made and excellent point. The state had the murder charges against Casey. She was found not guilty on the charge. The DA can now go after her for involuntary manslaughter. So there is still a case, but she just won't fry like she should.
They can't. It would be double jeopardy. Once found Not guilty on a murder charge....it's over. -

lol, glad I don't live in half of your neighbourhoods; ready to hang someone even AFTER a not-guilty verdict.
2 jurors got to 11th grade
2 jurors didn't want to be on the trial since their religion 'opposed passing judgement'.
1 juror was charged with DUI
1 juror was charged with drug possession
1 juror was involved in an incident where someone went to jail for beating up dad and grandpa (or some such thing).
Jurors took almost zero notes.
Juror didn't once look at Mr. Ashton during his closing. She doodled.
I HOPE those idiots aren't MY peers. -

I do almost all the above and would have loved to be on that jury. Based on all the evidence I saw, I would have hung the jury and cost the state a boatload but I would have slept at night.
Of course, I wouldn't have been chosen but, hey, I could have lied and breezed through it. Oh wait... that's Casey's MO. -

well, that's just it; based on the evidence you saw, which I'm sure wasn't every detail, testimonial, evidence and statement
easy to judge when you're watching from a couch
I watched every minute of the 6 weeks of testimony. From 8am - 5pm and then the news from 5pm -1am. I saw/heard everything the jury did except the skull photo's which would have made me lean more towards guilt.
Wanna try again? -

Hmmm. I'm not a high school drop out. Never been arrested. I pay attention and even took notes at home. I don't have a problem judging evidence. I have never been to jail.

nope, sounds good, you'd probably have hung a jury as 11 people diagreed with you ..and she'd still walk
Hung jury does not mean she walks. It mean a retrial.
The only way she could have walked besides a non-guilty verdict would have been if the prosecutors were found to have broken a law.
Mistrial for defence error: Retrial.
Mistrial for prosecution error: Walks
When I say I watched it all, I really did. I skipped all 4th of July functions to watch closing and rebuttal. -

well, 20% of americans never graduated high school in 2010, As of December 31, 2001, there were an estimated 5.6 million adults who had ever served time in State or Federal prison, including 4.3 million former prisoners and 1.3 million adults in prison
If someone doesn't have adequate education or has served time, they should not be on a jury, especially on a Capital Case. Just my opinion. -

i agree, i was just saying the jury represents to a degree the US public today
Got it
I'm kind of taking this verdict to heart since I invested so much time. I feel awful there will never be justice for little Caylee who was tossed away like garbage.
But... I hope Casey ends up like OJ. She was a criminal before and will more than likely be a criminal again. Stealing over 100 checks is not something that was a passing fancy for her. -

I hope you show the same conviction for all the other horrible crimes perpetrated out there daily with that, if you were willing to 'invest' so much time, why not become an activist?..I'm not being a smart-ass, I'm honestly asking...if you can devote that many hours and time into one case, why not into a cause?..you certainly have spirit

Thanks I do have a job (though work from home) and a family.. which has been somewhat neglected.
The most I do is volunteer at a homeless shelter, but you may be right. I should look into a victims advocate, searches, whatever.... I am addicted to this kind of thing. -

I'm pissed at the verdict. I am sick of sociopaths getting away with every single thing they do. I'm not a violent person, but I wouldn't mind at all if someone took matters into their own hands to get justice for Caylee.
I've been on a jury. I've been arrested and have spent a few days in county jails. I've watched someone get shot and killed in front of me. I have a son who only completed 10th grade, and his wife only completed 3rd. I don't "like" to judge people. I've been a victim of domestic violence. Do I feel like a "normal" American? Yes, I feel I fit right there in the middle between "better" and "worse" ones. And they'll still call me for jury duty and let me serve.
Maybe I'm prejudicial, but dtsweet isn't being a smart ass. You should see it when he is!
We saw more than the trial, we saw the media advocacy and commentary, and watched more hours of stuff the jury never saw or heard. Sad that this stuff happens every day. If they showed us all of it, no telling what damage would be done.
But we live in the USA where some people are probably still in jail for smoking a joint in the 70's. And where murderers go free more ofthen than not. And where the sociopaths, who are so good at lying, are believed more than a non-sociopathic person who tells the truth. At least this time, the outrage is not divided along racial lines. -

lol, it is a cross-section of the US, dabigdog....20 percent of the population hasn't finished high school (like 20% of the jury)...several persons in this forum admit to smoking pot, several more have drank and drove..... what plant do I live on? The one where your legal system let her walk...if you don't like the outcome, get off your couch and change the system
as far as being smart-ass, my compliment to gabby was whole-hearted...I admire her tenacity..she, unlike you, doesn't resort in personal attacks -

I strongly disagree with dtsweet's opinion, however, he never called American's stupid. Quite the opposite, he said the jurors were a cross example of Americans and thus fair for the verdict.
I think Casey is 100% guilty. Say I'm wrong, how in the hell can a mother get NO charge for failure to report a 'missing' or in her defenses words 'dead' child. I hope Judge Perry makes her pay for the cost of ALL searches since she knew, per her own defense, it was all for naught. -

Tim Miller, head of Equisearch, is talking with attornies regarding lawsuit against the Anthony's for getting back $112,000 and 4,2000 volunteers searching for someone who was never missing. Jose Bias may also be named in the lawsuit.
Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez served papers to Casey today regarding lawsuit for defamation of Character.
IRS has contacted Casey for $68,520.41 in back taxes owed.
Perhaps Casey will need to take the offer made today to star in a porno. -

Oh, I'm in no way saying Casey is innocent in nature, just innocent in a court of law; she may well be one who slipped through the cracks...but she had her day and she walked
lol, porno or reality show; I hear those are 15 minute of fame cash cows lol
You know what gripes me, dtsweet? One of the jurors has already been offered 6 figures to 'tell all'.
What kind of a system do we have when a jury knows they are in a high profile case and a very swift non guilty verdict, in which the jurors slip out the back without explanation of their verdict, to wait for the highest bid.
I'm not saying the jurors found a non guilty verdict for that reason, I don't know if any did or not, but something is very wrong with a juror making alot of money on a shocking, for many, outcome.
