Did anyone have a chance to watch the documentary on A&E this morning, "102 Minutes That Changed America"?  It made me cry all over again.  My husband is in law enforcement, his son a local firefighter and our son-in-law also a firefighter....after 9/11, I developed even more tremendous admiration and respect for the sacrifices they make "just doing their jobs".  They are and always will be MY heroes....not celebrities or sports figures...THESE people as well as those in all branches of our military are the real heroes.  God Bless America.

        Yes.  I cried too.
I've been watching the specials everyday.  Very touching.

10 years ago today... America came together.  We were united in a way no humanitarian, speech or leader could unite us, we were united because of the terrorists.  They took so much from us but our resolve, caring, help for strangers was amazing.  It makes me very sad that as time went on, people are back to normal.  On 9/11/01 nobody saw black/white, tall/short, jew/christian.... they saw Americans and heroically gave of themselves.
If each of us gave a tiny fraction of what thousands gave on 9/11, can you imagine what kind of America we would have today and forever?

You are so right.  Heroes are those you listed, not celebs, sports figures or singers.  It's the everyday people who put their life on the line for others...that is a TRUE hero.

I was in MInnesota had woke up early that morning, i was sharing a home with some people.. i remember it was about 9:30 i was watching TV, it didn't even get to me yet i thought i was watching a movie and thinking what movie is this? Is was real.. it was really happening.. i woke up everyone in the house and told them to turn on the TV..first feelings i remember.. my heart was so sunk into the pit of my stomache i had my hand there to keep it from falling further, my eyes were glued, mouth slightly opened to the sad position, all i could think about was "WHY?" no legitimate answer could come to me..

To all the bravery and sacrifices those people made that day..to be here to commemorate this thread.. makes me really know just how extremely lucky we are
