        Hi Members,

        We all experience stress in our lives. How we handle that stress differs from one person to another.

        Eating can bring a great comfort....to others they can't eat a bite.

        I know for some sleeping can have a great effect....when under stress. Some people want to sleep all the time while others can't sleep a wink.

        Seeking an outlet such as gambling for example is a great escape to forget about your problems. Yet there are some who retreat and close the world off.

        Stress can effect your whole mood. From being easily irritated to cryin a the drop of a pin.

        How do you handle stress...please choose up to 2. Also if you have any pointers please share them!

        I seem to drink a bit more then normal when im stressed out..and that leads to more emotional reponses..some which are not good, and for sure not wanting to eat much.

        Ahhhh yes........nothing like a few spirits when your spirits are low!!!

        But here's the question on that....do you feel better or worse....or does it depend on the degree of stress?

        When i'm stressed out, i get calm and quiet..
        I don't want to talk to anyone, just let me sit
        quietly and think.
        I don't know if thats apart of a depression that comes
        with the stress, or if it is 2 seperate things.
        When i'm depressed about something i sleep alot
        When stressed i can't sleep, just want to sit alone and think
        but while stressed i feel depressed.
        I will smoke more when stressed, smoke less when depressed.
        Being here in vegas, while depressed i'll go gamble..
        While stressed i don't even want to see a gambling machine...

          When I get stressed I rub my forehead a lot and thats how I know Im stressed.  I tend to gamble so I don't have to think about what is stressing me out but I guess I'm just putting off the inevitable. 

          I also like to be alone because that way I can calm myself down and just think about what I need to think about without interuption.

          Wow i really didn't realize how many other people just want to be left alone. I know i am definately that way. I have to be to myself and think things through.

          I find exercising helps, just pounding the pavement and working up a sweat gets the endorphins going.

          I also find writing a list of things you are stressed about then seeing how you can solve the problem is good. It makes me feel less overwhelmed to see that there is a solution. Even though trying to forget about it and procrastinating might seem easier, just confronting the problem often helps me to chill out a bit.

          I agree...i think that exercise has to be one of the biggest stress relievers. I love to swim and try to do laps everyday. I know when i am stress out it can be difficult for me to want to even think about doing laps. But i push myself.....cuz when i am done i feel like a million bucks!

          Now if only i could win a million bucks.........wink!

          I'm with Shelli on this one.  When I'm stressed out, my head rotates 360o and fire spews forth.  Pity those around me lol.
