        Hi Gang:

Do energy drinks live up to their hype? Can they really increase your energy levels, boost your concentration and alertness, stimulate your metabolism, improve your stamina and help you leap over tall buildings or meet your latest work deadline? These combinations of caffeine, herbs, vitamins and amino acids certainly sound scientific -- but do they work? And if they really are effective, are they safe?

I myself drink "AMP"(Sugar free) and they really do make a difference in my energy level.  Once I drank two in one day and felt like I was gonna come right out of my own skin.    Buzzzzzzzzzzz. Worse feeling than coffee has ever given me.

I hear some people actually mix energy drinks with alcohol.  Anyone ever done that?

What are some opinions of energy drinks. They are so popular.  Anyone ever had a bad experience from them?

                                      Pros and cons to everything....

I tried one once at Atlantic City.  All it did was keep me up all night.

I'm not about to even start after what happened to my former rommie.

He'd chug 2 every day. Just about a month before layoff, he'd started with severe adombinal pains, taken to the hospital, he'd had a ruptured appendix and they said that it can be from:

        1. a car accident (This is the most common reason for the rupture)

        2. Energy Drinks (They have seen an increase in such from those who drink the stuff)

        3. Spontanous rupture. (About 1 in 250,000)

In his care, he was (They believe) No. 3 as the evidence wasn't great on the energy drinks, but they didn't rule it out.

What does weaken the appendix, is the disease of Mono and he'd never had that so they put it down to the rare case.
