Your Tax Dollars at Work 2

A contract security guard at Detroit's McNamara Building (which houses the FBI and other vital federal offices) was found in March to have casually laid aside, for three weeks, a suspicious package that turned out to be a real bomb. (It was, eventually, safely detonated.)

Maybe that guard thought that a bomb should be ticking like they do in the movies, that's why the package didn't seem too dangerous

Unbelievable Nan.  You would think they would be a lot more careful.

Hahaha...good one. I posted this one on my facebook but here's another fine example of our tax dollars hard at work.... I was leaving a casino near my house a few weeks ago and as I approached my car this overweight lady with fake nail and hair extentions came up to me and asked if I would buy her food stamps so she can go back in and play! Amazing this woman has money to git her hair and nails did and to gamble with but we have to pay for all of her dinners....and dinners that she's trying to sell back to us at that!!

lol.. yea , hmm , we don't have stamps here anymore , just cards like debit or ebt cards.

Same here....so I'm not really sure how she planned on selling them, lol

she should wait outside the supermarket...lol or be like some people i know and let friends use the card and charge them 50 cents for every dollar they used.

Shhhh...I'm not trying to help her sell the help she claims to need. I'm just saying how messed up it is that anyone with a bunch of kids or no job can get US to pay their way. This woman is obviously not broke to the point where she can't afford to feed herself...I think social services need to do a better job in how they "qualify" people to recieve such benefits. This is the first time this has happened to me at a casino, but not the first time someone has tried to sell them to me. I met one girl when I was living in a hotel who was so desperate she said she'd give me $100 worht for 20 bucks....and maybe about 6 or 7 other times from random people who do as your friends and offer 50 cents on the $......

The local LA news is always doing stories on people misusing ebt cards/checks at casinos and strip clubs. I believe if you are caught using a card for anything other than food, they should take it away.
I too have been approached by these people, SS, dressed in labels head-to-toe complaining they can't use their card to buy Coach bags and such.
