If you are a Slot player than you know what machines are better than the others. What constitutes a good Slot? A payer!

New slot releases come out and i can't help but wonder if they are predetermined during the development stage to be a complete loser for the player.  There are some slots that players catch on real fast that are not paying and it remains an empty chair most of the time.

Wondering if these machines are released for Casinos with the selling point "hey these are money makers for you because they don't pay"!

        What do you think?

Do not all machines have to pay out a certain %?

Fancy themed slots such as Willy Wonka, Wizard of Oz, Michael Jackson, and of the likes are actually programmed to have a crappier pay back percentages.  Mainly because there considered a novelty slot.  Your playing the slot for saying hey I played a Willy Wonka slot.
Versus oh say something like Buffalo where the pay outs can be gigantic.  Mainly because your no longer paying a licensing fee to a company for using it's name or likeness.
Then of course we have the machines with the huge multipliers like the ten times pay and the twelve times pay machines.  Where the only reason why it seems like we go 1,000s of spins without a real good win.  Is that there programmed to pay out huge when they do hit.
That's at least the feeling I get.

I agree cheetah. I've never done particularly well - ok, I've always lost extremely quick - in the "novelty slots".. In fact, when I was in Laughlin last week, I specifically avoided them because I think they're there for the "novelty" value. Instead, I sat next to it and played on of my favorites. Zeus! And did extremely well.
