  • This guy has a ton of Casino vids on YouTube and while recording a bonus round on Walking Dead Slot he was asked to turn it off. Then a supervisor came by and asked for his ID and banned him for life.

    Here is the vid:

    Walking Dead Slot

I don't really understand why Casinos get so uptight about this because especially for this guy he brings a lot of free advertising for Slot and Casinos publishing them on YouTube.

Do you think that these Casino should have the right to prevent players from recording or taking pics of while playing?

  • I think whats really going on with these types of rules.
Is for example, this machine he was filming a "Walking Dead" bonus round.  Which had copyrighted material in, including video clips and proprietary images.  So really the license agreement allows for the machine to be placed in the casinos with the understanding that no filming or picture taking would be allowed.  Plus they would receive so much of the cash put into the machine.
I think the casino mainly doesn't want to deal with a copyright infringement suit because they allowed a patron to film material that was considered protected.
I get where he was coming from that he has made several films without people in it.  Yet there's another legal issue of some of the content he films is considered patented and copyright protected.  So unless if he had a written agreement from AMC to film there machine, or whatever he was filming at the time.  He could have a lawsuit on his hands as well.
So I guess from a legal stand point I could see there grounds for basically telling him he's no longer welcome, because he refused to stop recording.  To protect themselves mainly.
On the other hand, if you can film or take a big win picture at particular casino.  That would show that the machines can and will pay if there at the right time.
Honestly do I think a lifetime ban was a bit harsh, maybe.  Maybe a few days, a week, maybe even a year at most I could see.  Yet lifetime was pretty harsh.  Yet it was there call in the end I suppose.

  • Totally ridiculous.  The person who told the player he couldn't record probably didn't know anything about legal stuff.  They just like to show their power while making minimum wage.

If anything, they shouldn't want it to be recorded because it paid crap for a $3.00 bet on a penny machine.

  • i have seen this problem before on youtube on different channels, uploaders putting the phone with video on in a shirt pocket. so yes, this is clearly forbidden to do there.
as much as US people dont have many options online, land based casinos from there are the best with the coolest slots ever made. i would trade any day online for real casinos with WMS releases!!!

  • It's a bit extreme but some players want privacy and don't want to be recorded. I wouldn't want to be caught on video dumping hundreds into a machine like a crazy person. laugh_out_loud

  • I understand all legal issues that the casino might have but to ban a player for life is too much.

  • I know that video game developers are starting to get funny about people recording in game footage and then putting it on YouTube as of recently, it may be to do with copyright issues and demands of the actual software providers
