Does having tickets instead of coins makes it easier or harder to cashout?

I don't know how the machines operate in other parts of the country/globe,  but locally the Hard Rock here prints out tickets when you cash out from a machine.  When I was in Vegas during the 90's  I loved hearing the coins as they hit the tray.  I don't know--that pitch seemed to alter my reality briefly but I kind of liked it 'cause you just reach down, grab your loot and keep some, reinvest some and so on.  With the tickets,  I think I'll stay at a machine longer 'cause to me it's a pain in the ass to have to get the ticket and wait for a change attendant or go to a machine and change it, etc.  I think those days however are probably gone.

Great thread Bongo...for me personally when i first started going to land based casinos I was tickled pink to cashout and have coins falling out of the machine lol. To me I felt like I won a whole lot more than I actually did. Now in the casinos close to me they print you a ticket. The ticket is interchangeable meaning you can stick it in other machines which is very very tempting. Usually when I print my ticket I go find the nearest cashout station so that I can put it away and act like I didn't win until I leave. I wish they gave you the option to cashout with coins or a ticket.

I vote for the coins! Not sure what makes the better case for cashing out, but I just loooove the sound of coins coming out...

So glad they got rid of coins and went to tickets.  Coins can get really heavy and then you have to look for a bucket!  I for one am glad those days are over.

I am partial to the coins. I hate change for one and for two i love the coins and the way you can carry them around to the next machine or ash them in.

Oh my gosh-i LOVED coins-the best was that rush you got when your bucket was full as the money was coming out, and you are doing the mad grab around looking for a bucket(not even concerned with it being filthy or not haha) and then when you are trying to keep the coins from falling out of the buckets stacked on top of eachother, quickly walking to the cage for the cashiers to pour your buckets into the machine, watchig the amount move up quickly!!!  miss those days!!

oh, and as for the tickets-nothing like getting all the way home and realizing you had a ticket at the bottom of the purse-damn could have played longer haha!

I prefer tickets over the coins it's easier to cash out. I always use money when playing on slots and I never use tickets to load slots. If I run out of money I go to cashier and cash out all my tickets and play with money again,...

yes we too in Latvia have tickets, i think its much easer, u can see all ur money on ticket not 100`s of coins, and i preffer to use tickets for cash in and out, only if i win big i chashed out from tickets and then start it again..

I love the sound of the coins myself however, fake pound coins are rife in the UK and I can see the "ticket" route being taken over here very soon.  The fake coins crisis has meant that a new  one pound coin is being put into circulation.

Wow Blue, that seems like a lot of trouble to counterfeit heavy metal coins.  I understand the convenience reasons behind making the move to tickets but I really miss that ding-ding-ding-ding sound the coins made and  I also felt like I had more money when I could carry a bucket full of 'em

Awesome thread bongo! I prefer the ticket or as we call here "Voucher". Having a bunch of coins fall in the machine well and then trying to get buckets to fill them all up and carry them to the cashier was very heavy.

If there is more than one win its tough to know exactly how many coins you have where the credits in the machine give an exact total making it easier to keep track of your money. They have kiosks all over the casino and does not require waiting in long lines at the cashier which makes it really easy to cashout vouchers.

I also thought scooping up the coins and putting them back in the machine made it much easier to blow it all back because you couldn't keep an exact count on how much you were spending.

The only thing i do miss is the exciting sound of it falling and hearing that cling, cling!

I don't mind the workout (carrying several heavy coin laden buckets). Good for me; builds character. I use to love to grab a handful of the coins and say okay I'm keepin' this much and playin' with the rest. It actually helped me more with my money management. Oh, hey everyone---Look who just made Super Hero Member Super Bongo exclamation

Wow, that sure is purty,  what is that composed of?  Silver, Gold?  Nice looking coin.  Are those the ones Blue was talking about  that are actually being counterfeited?  Looks like that would be extremely difficult.
