  • Casinos have clever tricks that can throw us players off our game and its completely legal to do.

If you are a regular at certain Casinos then you have undoubtedly your favorite machines. One day you walk in and your machine is no longer lucky for you. Thinking it was just a bad day until every time you go now the machine is not paying and the machine that was the dud is now on fire!

Its not that payout percentage has been tightened up its because the machine has been MOVED! Here is what is really happening..........

You go to a bank of machines that are identical; a row of the same Slots or a row of Video Poker machines. But the reality is its not the same machine. Most Casinos close for a couple of hours daily to clean and yes, to move machines around occasionally.

If all machines are identical how are you to know which one is YOUR machine? Each machine is numbered on the front. When you find your favorite machine write down the number of the machine and each time you go check that its the correct machine and has not been moved down the row somewhere!

  • This is a great tip!
    Will keep it in mind!!

  • Great tip Lips.  I have seen this happen but never thought to note the number.

  • Oh those dirty dogs. I know they do this! I saw a really hot poker machine that had a button that stuck and the casino did the switcheroo and I found it in another section. I would love to see the surveillance video while they scramble to "clean" laugh_out_loud

  • Oh, I've never thought about it, but that's a great tip.

  • Aight gotta add my 2cents.  I went to USA 2 years ago and yes Las Vegas was on my must do list.

What I noticed about ATMs in any city but Vegas is they usually give you $20 or $50 bills. However in Vegas at any casino on the strip ATMs would always cough out only $100 bills.

    Coincidence? I think not !

  • I know what  you mean Zuga.  Even here at our local Indian casino they have many ATMs around the casino, but a couple of them give only $100 bills.  I was like What?  I wanted to get less than $300, but had to settle on $200 because of this.  The other ATMs give out $20 bills, but I didn't notice it when I went up to the ATM.

  • Hardly a coincidence! Who the hell uses $100 bills anyway:-)

  • Oh i hate when I get $100 bills from the ATM at the casinos. I always break it down into 20's. It's way to easy to just keep playing those hundreds. laugh_out_loud

  • Casinos on Indian reservations have the WORST odds on their slots out of any casinos out there.  They are not regulated by any authority.  People if you are playing on a reservation, do yourselves a favor and stick with the tables!

I have won quite a bit at Indian casinos here in our state.  That is the only kind of land based casinos that we have.  I will take my chances with an Indian land based casino any day over an online casino where there is no regulations whatsoever in the US.

  • Not to mention all the free booze you can get... They want you boozed up so you make more mistakes while playing

Yeah, the booze is a neat trick...

I have never played in a Casino that didn't dish out $100 bills out of the ATM machines. It's not only in Vegas but all the Casinos in my state as well. [quote author=Lootva link=topic=30475.msg302316#msg302316 date=1398629699]

Unfortunately this statement is not entirely true.  I do agree that certain Indian reservations will have lower payouts, but they will still be regulated by the state gaming commission, so if the Indian reservation is in a state that require a certain payback, then they will need to adhere.  For example Arizona does not require them to publish RTP, but the state requires them to pay 80%-100% RTP (what a range).

Foxwoods & Mohegan sun both are Indian and both have a total yearly RTP (reported 2013) of 91.61 and 91.76 which is just slightly above average for all casinos in US.  Nevada casinos boast the top RTP of course.
  • Thanks for that tip about the machines I would've never guessed. Regarding Indian Casinos I've played at a couple of them, both tables and slots and I just can't seem to win. So finally one day I thought I would try out Bingo, well what do you know I walked away that evening with $2500. Now that's my game whenever I go to the Indian Casinos:)

    Hi Tinker,

Congrats on the big win at bingo.  That is usually the hardest game to win.  Just goes to show when luck is with you it will pay off.  My theory is that no matter what you are playing or where you are, luck must be with you to win.  Of course the odds of winning are different for different games, but luck must always be involved in order to win.  JMO

Here the booze is not free.  You gotta pay and it is not really very cheap either.  But I know what you mean.  I have already been in Vegas years ago where it is free and I got a little loaded playing blackjack.  Was betting $25 or more a hand thinking it's only chips.  Probably had fun, but don't remember if I won.

That's some nice prize for a Bingo! How many players were there?
