When you're in Vegas with the kids is it wrong to gamble?

My husband and I took my teenage son to Vegas for the first time two weeks ago. He had never been there and we were there to take him to the Hoover Dam and to see the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Well I thought I could sneak out  for a couple of hours at night to do a little gambling but then I started to feel guilty After all it's suppose to be a family vacation right? But then again I'm in Vegas and I"m salivating at the mouth so to speak. Do you think it's okay to gamble while on vacation with the family(kids)? I'd like to hear some feedback from people who have kids that's been in my position. Thanks

Vegas has changed their entire landscape to include a family experience. I don't think there is anything wrong with bringing kids because there is so many family activities and attractions to see. I wouldn't feel guilty for getting away and enjoying some adult fun either.

I wouldn't personally bring kids because it realistically is an adult playground. That's the time when you and your husband sneak off for fun and leave kids with gramma and grampa!

The only time i was irked by parents that brought their kids was at CaesarsPalace in Vegas at the pool. The dad comes up to us at the pool OUTSIDE and tells us he would appreciate NO smoking around his kid! All the while he is sucking down beers all day, the pool was filled with adults drinking and swearing.

That's when its time not to bring your kids!

You shouldn't feel guilty. Spending all day doing things together should wear him out. I agree with lips because there are certain things to be expected. It is Las Vegas!

                This is a tricky one, yes, Lips you are right about the change in atmosphere for more families now. 
            Many of the resorts  have kids activities,  some practically even have an amusement park inside.  That might be okay if they're real little.  Mine are teenagers and I wouldn't want them exposed to a lot of the  rowdiness that goes on.    I really think it is an adult playground and  you can't even be in the casino area if you're under 21 as I recall.    I just think there's way too much trouble they could get into even accidentally. 
         

You dont need to feel gulty , but when you are on vacation with your family , i think you should also rest from gambling .
