Desert Nights Withdrawal Issue

Hi,

I cleared a chip at desert nights a month back and received a Canadian check for $190. I live in rural Arizona and none of my banks (3 of them) nor the check cashing place would accept the check. I had a feeling it would happen but the amount was too small for a wire and they wouldn't do neteller.

I told them of this and they sent me a prepaid label to send them the check and they would credit it to my account as a deposit. The check was shredded so I told them it wasn't possible but I did have images of the check including one with it voided after I attempted to submit to my Chase account via the photo deposits as a last resort (it was rejected upon review). I sent them all the photos asking that they verify with their processor that it wasn't cashed, see that it was voided and credit my account.

They got back to me today (a week later) stating that this was not enough because they needed the check or a pic of it voided and that they had issued a stop payment which incurs a fee of $250.00 and 3 weeks processing time. Anything  left over would be credited to my account. Wait..what? On a $190 check?

Anyhow I replied and resent the image of the voided check. Maybe they didn't see it.

Can't figure out if they are just railroading me so they have an option to not pay. I should not have to cover processing fees like that. It is not me that operates a business in a major gray area.

Been several hours so we will see what happens. Seems silly to lose a customer that is a heavy depositor with many other casinos over $190.  I really liked them up to this point and the week wait.

They got back to me and claimed the the $250.00 fee would not be passed along to me, they just wanted me to know that it is what it will cost them.

Why would you spend $250 to stop $190? Especially with a photo of the voided check and a photo I just took of its scraps in the shred pile.

I guess I'll have to wait three weeks. I have always found it ironic that everything takes weeks and months when you need something from them, yet depositing is always an instant method (ie..wallets and cards). 

I once asked a casino with a 6 week withdrawal time if they would credit my account with a deposit of $300, which I will send them a check for in 6 weeks. That didn't fly lol.

That's surprising about Chase, then again they probably wanted it brought into the branch.  I've had several Canadian checks I've taken to Wells Fargo.  Granted there's always a $6 fee.  Yet as long I as specify it's a Canadian check.  Most of the times, they take it and credit to my account within 2 to 3 business days.  Varying on the amount.
