Liberia is a blue-level online gambling jurisdiction, and they have no type of regulation for the industry at all.

Liberia is located on the south-west coast of Northern Africa. It borders the Atlantic Ocean along its southern coast. It also borders Sierra Leone to the north-west, Guinea to the north and the Ivory Coast to the east.

Several forms of gambling, including sports betting and casino games, are legalized and regulated by the government in land-based capacities in Liberia. However, they do not have any sort of laws, regulations or rules when it comes to online gambling. What's interesting as well is that they haven't shown very much interest in regulating the online side of the industry at all, which is the opposite of what most countries do since they are always wanting to maximize the revenues that they can get from these games.

It's very unclear if Liberia has any serious chances of regulating the online gambling industry any time soon. Simply put, they have not shown any interest in it, and they do not have a gambling climate that indicates pressure towards regulation.

No licensing process exists for online gambling sites in Liberia. They have a small number of land-based casinos and sports betting operations, but it's unclear whether or not they have a formal licensing process because of their small numbers. In any event, they do not have the structure in place that would easily carry over to the online sector, so in the case of potential future regulation, they would essentially be starting from scratch when it comes to any sort of licensing process that's created in the future.

Player Protections

With no licensing process in place, there is no level of player protection for online gambling in Kenya. While their land-based operations do have suitable levels of player protection, and while this does indicate that any future online operations would have comparable levels, there is still no indication that they will regulate Internet gambling, so it's largely a moot point.

Since there are no laws forbidding online gambling in Liberia, players are free to play with foreign operators in all forms of gambling. We advise sticking to sites that have a good reputation, and we also advise that you do your research before choosing a site if you're playing from Liberia because of their overwhelming lack of player protections.
