Mongolia is a white-level online gambling jurisdiction because it's unclear what their stance actually is on the subject.

Mongolia is a land-locked, Asian country. It borders Russia to the north and China to the south while coming very close to bordering Kazakhstan to the west.

Mongolia has a very complicated history involving gambling. A number of attempts to institute regulation for the land-based industry have failed in the past, and this has put them in a position where their government seems to have temporarily given up on any type of gambling regulation whatsoever. This is being challenged by Macau, however, and Mongolia could respond to the growth of the gambling capital of Asia by pushing for their own new casinos.

Along these lines, online gambling does not need to be on their radar in any way shape or form, and it's not clear if online gambling is illegal or not. With that having been said, there's a huge market for it in this country, and tons of online casinos and other types of gambling sites accept Mongolian players.

In the past, there has been a lot of interest in creating a licensing process for land-based establishments, and their could be a renewed interest coming up soon to try to get a piece of the market that Macau has taken advantage of. This can mean two things for online gambling.

First, it could mean that they're also open to regulating the Internet side of the industry. It could be a major revenue-building aspect of their overall operation, and it could make the best of the fact that people are going to gamble online from the country whether it's regulated or not.

Second, it could mean that they're going to push for land-based casinos and take a hard approach to pushing out all online gambling so that there's no competition. It's hard to say which of the two is going to happen because there's no public support for or opposition against online gambling in the government from high-ranking officials.

Player Protections

There's no licensing process in place at this point, so there are no player protections from the government. There have been no publicized cases of anyone being arrested for online gambling in the country as well. If players decide to get in on the action from Mongolia, then they should do so by sticking to reputable sites with a history of taking care of people who play with them with reliable cash outs and good support.
