Morocco is a blue-level online gambling jurisdiction with no regulations of any kind for the online industry.

Morocco is located on the north-west corner of Africa. It borders Algeria to the east and south with the Western Sahara to the south. The Atlantic Ocean is located to the west with the Alboran Sea to the north.

Like many nations in Africa, Morocco has an emerging land-based gambling industry as they seek to become known as a tourist destination. While their land-based casinos are just getting started, the industry hasn't quite caught up to the point that they have any sort of regulations for the online side of things. Along these lines, they've also been caught up trying to create laws that promote a free and widely-available Internet, so it's unlikely that they will restrict online gambling just for the sake of restricting it for the time being. There are no laws against online gambling in the country.

No licensing process currently exists for online gambling sites in Morocco. There are signs that such a process could come in the future, however, with how they are promoting gambling and casinos for the purposes of attracting tourists. It's unclear how much legitimacy their licensing body has for land-based establishments, but because they are so serious about trying to take the negative stigma away from gambling, chances are that they are sincere about wanting to clean up the industry. Along these lines, any future licensing process for online gambling sites will most likely be highly legitimate with a strong attention to detail.

Player Protection

Because Morocco doesn't have a licensing process in place, there are no player protections for anyone who gambles online. To this end, it's probably a good idea to be particularly selective about the sites you play with online if you're playing from this country. While there are no laws against gambling online in this country, that could change at some point in the future if they take the position that some countries have that online gambling could take away from the market share of their land-based establishments.

Even with that as a small possibility, things are generally looking up for players from Morocco. The government seems to be embracing gambling as a way to give players entertainment while building revenues for their coffers, and this is exactly how things should be done to maximize player protection and keep the games as legitimate and secure as possible.
